ChanelCC 2001s Timeless Picnic Wicker Flap Bag

Q: What fits inside this Chanel Timeless Picnic Wicker Flap Bag?
A: With approximate measurements of 26 x 16 x 8 cm, this medium-sized shoulder bag is best suited to daily essentials such as a phone, cardholder or compact wallet, keys, sunglasses, and a few small cosmetics. As with most vintage flap bags, bulkier items may reduce how comfortably the flap closes, so please refer to the measurements on this page for the best guide to capacity.

Q: Is this a shoulder bag or can it be worn crossbody?
A: This piece is designed primarily as a shoulder bag. The chain and leather strap measures approximately 43 cm, which usually gives a comfortable shoulder drop but is generally too short for a true crossbody fit on most people.

Q: Is this a single flap or double flap Chanel bag?
A: This item is a single flap model. That means it has one main flap rather than the additional inner flap found on double flap styles, giving slightly easier access and a roomier feel for its size.

Q: What material is the bag made from?
A: This vintage Chanel bag features a wicker exterior with gold-tone hardware and a yellow leather lining. The mix of woven wicker and leather detailing gives it a distinctive seasonal picnic-style look while still keeping the classic Chanel flap silhouette.

Q: How should I care for a vintage wicker and leather Chanel bag?
A: Store it upright in its pouch or dust bag, lightly filled to help maintain its shape, and keep straps protected so they do not press into the bag. Avoid prolonged exposure to sunlight, moisture, and humidity. For routine care, use only a soft dry cloth and avoid harsh cleaners or conditioners unless advised by a specialist, as vintage wicker, leather, and hardware can all be sensitive to inappropriate products.

Q: What does the serial number prefix 6 mean?
A: A Chanel serial number beginning with 6 typically dates the bag to the 2000 to 2002 period, which aligns well with this early-2000s vintage style. As always, serial dating is one part of authentication and should be considered alongside materials, construction, hardware, and overall craftsmanship.

Q: What is included with this bag?
A: According to the product information, this item includes a dust bag and serial number tag. If another accessory is not listed in the product information, it should not be assumed to be included.

Q: What condition is the bag in?
A: The overall condition is rated Very Good. The exterior shows light traces of use, the interior has pen marks on the lining, and the hardware remains shiny with light scratches. These are consistent signs of careful vintage wear and are worth reviewing alongside the product images before purchase.

Q: Is the closure secure for everyday use?
A: This bag has a magnetic flap closure, which offers quick and convenient access while helping keep everyday essentials contained. As with most flap bags, it is best not to overfill it, both for secure closure and to preserve the bag’s shape over time.
