ChanelClassic Medium Double Flap Bag

Q: What typically fits inside this Chanel Classic Medium Double Flap Bag?
A: With measurements of approximately 25 x 16 x 6 cm, this medium size is best for daily essentials such as a phone, slim wallet or card holder, keys, lipstick, and a few small extras. Because it is a double flap style, it offers elegant structure and security, but it will feel more compact inside than a single-compartment bag of similar width.

Q: Will a long wallet fit inside?
A: In many cases, a long wallet can fit, but it will take up a good portion of the interior space. Most buyers find this size works best with a compact wallet or card holder if they also want room for a phone, keys, and beauty essentials.

Q: Can this bag be worn on the shoulder?
A: Yes. The leather-threaded chain strap is designed for shoulder wear, and the listed strap measurements are 24/43 cm. This style is commonly worn with the chain doubled for a shorter drop or extended for a longer shoulder carry, depending on personal preference and frame.

Q: What is the benefit of the double flap design?
A: The double flap is one of the signature features of the Chanel Classic Flap. It adds structure, helps the bag keep its iconic shape, and provides an extra layer of security. The trade-off is that the interior feels slightly smaller than more open flap bags.

Q: Is lambskin leather delicate?
A: Yes. Lambskin is prized for its soft, smooth, luxurious finish, but it is generally more prone to surface scratches, pressure marks, and corner wear than more heavily grained leathers. It is a beautiful choice if you appreciate a refined look and are happy to handle it with a little extra care.

Q: How should I care for this bag?
A: Handle the lambskin with clean, dry hands and wipe gently with a soft cloth when needed. Avoid overfilling, harsh leather products, rain exposure, direct heat, and colour transfer from dark or heavily dyed clothing. For storage, keep the bag upright in its dust bag, lightly stuffed to help maintain its shape, and avoid letting the chain press into the leather for long periods.

Q: What is the condition of this specific bag?
A: This piece is listed in Very Good condition with light traces of use. The exterior shows light signs of wear, the interior has a pen mark and scratches, and the hardware remains shiny with light scratches. Please review the product images and product information carefully for the best sense of its current condition.

Q: What is included with this bag?
A: Included items are listed in the product information. For this piece, the product information states that a dust bag and serial number tag are included. If an authenticity card or box is not listed in the product information, it should not be assumed to be included.

Q: When and where was this bag made?
A: According to the product information, this bag was made in France and the serial number tag corresponds to 2017. That places it within Chanel’s serial-sticker era, which is often of interest to collectors and buyers of pre-owned Classic Flap bags.

Q: How is authenticity handled for this bag?
A: A Retro Tale specialises in authentic luxury vintage and second-hand accessories, and this bag is sold as an authenticated pre-owned item. The serial number tag is present on this piece, and buyers can also use the product information and images to review the details specific to this example.
