Christian DiorGrandville Boston Bag

Q: What typically fits inside the Christian Dior Granville Boston Bag?
A: With approximate measurements of 32 × 22.5 × 17 cm, it comfortably holds a long wallet, phone, keys, sunglasses, a small water bottle, a cosmetics pouch and an e‑reader or iPad‑sized tablet. Capacity is comparable to a classic Boston/doctor‑style bag and sits between a Speedy 30 and 35 depending on how you pack. For precise space, please refer to the Measurements on this page.

Q: Can it be worn crossbody as well as on the shoulder?
A: Yes. This piece includes a detachable and adjustable shoulder strap with an approximate 50 cm drop, allowing both shoulder wear and, on most frames, a short crossbody carry. The dual rolled handles provide a comfortable handheld option too.

Q: What is the leather and quilting style on the Granville?
A: The Granville is known for its quilted leather with Dior’s cannage‑inspired stitching, giving a geometric, softly structured look. It balances a refined appearance with everyday practicality.

Q: Is “Granville” the same as “Grandville”?
A: Yes. The style is commonly known as “Granville”, named after Christian Dior’s hometown in Normandy. Some listings use the spelling “Grandville”; they refer to the same model.

Q: How does the Granville compare to the Lady Dior?
A: The Granville keeps the House’s cannage codes and DIOR letter charms but is generally softer and more relaxed than the more structured Lady Dior. It was designed as an easy, elegant carry for daily use.

Q: What are the interior and closure details on this particular bag?
A: This item has a top zip closure and a black fabric‑lined main compartment with internal pockets for organisation, as noted in the product details.

Q: Does this bag have a serial number and where is the code located?
A: Dior uses a date code rather than a unique serial number. On Granville models it is typically heat‑stamped on the reverse of the interior leather logo tag (or on a small leather tab inside a pocket). The letters indicate the factory, and the numbers indicate month and year of production.

Q: Which items are included with this purchase?
A: Everything included is listed under the product information section for this page. For this piece, the detachable shoulder strap is included. If an item such as a dust bag or card is not listed there, it is not included.

Q: What is the condition of this specific piece?
A: Overall very good. The exterior is very good with some visible marks on the shoulder strap; the interior is very good with light traces of use; the hardware shows scratches and some dullness, consistent with careful wear.

Q: Any care tips for quilted Dior leather?
A: Store stuffed in a breathable dust bag, away from direct heat and humidity. Avoid overfilling to preserve the quilting and handle shape. Wipe gently with a soft, slightly damp cloth and dry immediately; avoid harsh cleaners and contact with dark or abrasive surfaces to prevent colour transfer and scuffs.

Q: When was the Granville produced and by whom at Dior?
A: The Granville line was widely produced in the late 2000s–early 2010s and is often associated with the John Galliano era at Dior. The exact month and year of this piece can be confirmed by reading its internal date code.
