GucciG-Timeless 38mm Ref 126.4 Full Set Watch

Q: What is the Gucci G‑Timeless 38mm Ref 126.4?
A: It’s a Swiss‑made quartz wristwatch featuring a 38mm gold‑plated stainless steel case, a green‑and‑red Gucci web fabric strap with “L’AVEUGLE PAR AMOUR” detail, and an embroidered bee motif on the dial. This vintage example is in excellent condition and comes as a full set with its original box and certificate.

Q: Is it water‑resistant and can I swim with it?
A: The model is rated to 5 ATM (50 metres) when new, suitable for everyday splashes, rain and hand‑washing. It is not intended for swimming, showering or submersion. As a vintage watch, water resistance is not guaranteed without recent servicing and pressure testing—always keep the crown fully pushed in.

Q: How do I set the time?
A: Gently pull the crown out to the time‑setting position (usually one click), rotate the crown to move the hands to the desired time, then press the crown back in firmly. Avoid setting the time while the watch is wet and ensure the crown is fully seated afterwards.

Q: What movement and battery does it use, and how long will the battery last?
A: It uses a Swiss quartz movement. Typical battery life is around 2–3 years, depending on use and storage. Have a qualified watchmaker replace the battery and check the gaskets; request a pressure test if you require light splash resistance.

Q: Is the 38mm size unisex and how does it wear?
A: Yes—38mm offers a versatile mid‑size profile that suits many small to medium wrists and wears unisex. The fabric strap with buckle is adjustable for comfort. Share your wrist measurement and we’ll advise on fit or alternative strap options.

Q: Can the strap be changed, and what should I consider?
A: The Gucci web fabric strap can be replaced with compatible straps (OEM Gucci or quality aftermarket). A watchmaker can confirm the correct lug width and hardware. Choose straps that complement the gold‑tone case and avoid very thick materials that may stress the lugs—we’re happy to help source and fit options.

Q: What do “L’AVEUGLE PAR AMOUR” and the bee motif signify?
A: “L’AVEUGLE PAR AMOUR” translates to “Blind for Love,” a recurring Gucci slogan. The bee is a long‑standing Gucci house symbol. Together they reflect Gucci’s eclectic, heritage‑inspired design language on the dial and strap.

Q: How should I clean and care for the watch and strap?
A: Wipe the case gently with a soft, dry microfibre cloth; avoid abrasive polishes on gold‑plated surfaces. Keep the fabric strap away from moisture, lotions and fragrances; spot‑clean with a barely damp cloth and allow to air‑dry. Store the watch in its box or a soft pouch, away from heat and magnets.

Q: What is included and is it authentic?
A: This piece is delivered as a full set with the original box and certificate. A Retro Tale specialises in authentic luxury vintage accessories and professionally authenticates every item. We offer a 14‑day return policy and a 12‑month warranty for added peace of mind.

Q: Do I need routine servicing, and when should I see a watchmaker?
A: Quartz watches typically require periodic battery changes rather than frequent full services. See a professional if timekeeping becomes erratic, you notice condensation under the crystal, or you want seals replaced and water‑resistance tested. Avoid strong magnets and extreme temperature changes to keep the watch in good order.
