IWCPortofino 37mm Ref IW458102 2022 Watch

Q: What are the main features of this IWC Portofino Ref. IW458102?
A: This pre-owned IWC Portofino features a 37 mm stainless steel case, grey dial with diamond hour markers, black leather strap, automatic movement and a date window. This particular watch is from 2022.

Q: Is 37 mm a good size for daily wear?
A: Yes. A 37 mm Portofino wears as an elegant midsize dress watch and suits buyers who prefer a refined, understated look rather than an oversized case. It sits neatly under a shirt cuff and works well for both smart and everyday styling.

Q: Does this watch need a battery?
A: No. It uses an automatic mechanical movement, so it winds through wrist motion rather than a battery. If it has not been worn for a while and stops, it can usually be restarted with a few gentle turns of the crown before setting the time and date.

Q: How long will it run when not being worn?
A: This reference is commonly listed with roughly a two-day power reserve. Actual running time can vary slightly depending on wear, age and the watch’s current service condition.

Q: Is it suitable for swimming or showering?
A: This reference is generally listed at 3 bar / 30 metres water resistance. For a pre-owned dress watch on a leather strap, it is best to avoid swimming, showering and prolonged water exposure unless the watch has been freshly pressure-tested.

Q: Can the strap be changed?
A: Yes. Portofino Automatic 37 models are commonly fitted with an 18 mm strap width, so there are good replacement options if you would like a different look. For the safest fit, we recommend professional strap changes.

Q: What is the condition of this watch?
A: It is listed in very good pre-owned condition, with light traces of use externally and internally. The hardware is shiny with light scratches, which is consistent with careful prior wear.

Q: What is included with this watch?
A: Included product information is a service box and warranty card. If another item is not listed in the product information, it should not be assumed to be included.

Q: How often should an automatic IWC be serviced or checked?
A: IWC advises that service timing depends on wear and performance rather than a fixed interval. As a practical guide, water resistance should be checked at least once a year, and the watch should be serviced if you notice changes in timekeeping, winding feel or general function.

Q: How should I care for the leather strap?
A: Keep the strap away from excess water, humidity, perfume and heat, and let it dry naturally if it gets damp. A gentle wipe with a soft cloth after wear helps it stay presentable for longer.
