Louis VuittonMonogram Bucket PM Tote Bag

Q: What size is this Louis Vuitton Monogram Bucket PM Tote Bag?
A: This is the PM size, which generally stands for Petit Modèle, or the smaller size in the Bucket line. According to the product information, it measures approximately 23 cm wide, 25 cm high, and 16 cm deep, with a strap drop of about 25 cm.

Q: What typically fits inside the Bucket PM?
A: With its structured bucket shape, it is well suited to daily essentials such as a phone, wallet, keys, sunglasses, a small cosmetic pouch, and a compact water bottle. As always, capacity depends on how you organise your items, so please use the measurements on this page as your best guide.

Q: Can this bag be worn on the shoulder?
A: Yes. The Bucket PM is designed as a shoulder tote, and the approximately 25 cm strap drop makes it suitable for shoulder carry for most users. It is not designed as a crossbody bag.

Q: Does this bag come with a pouch or any extras?
A: No. Some vintage Bucket PM bags were originally sold with a small removable pouch, but this specific item is listed with no accessories. Please rely on the product information for exactly what is included with this bag.

Q: What is the condition of this specific bag?
A: This item is in good condition overall. The exterior shows visible wear and scuffing on the top leather trim, the interior has discolouration, a strong vintage smell, and early peeling, and the hardware remains shiny with light scratches.

Q: Is interior peeling common on vintage Louis Vuitton Bucket bags?
A: Yes, this is a well-known age-related issue on many vintage Bucket bags and similar Louis Vuitton styles with coated interior linings. In this particular bag, the inside is already starting to peel, so it is best suited to a buyer who is comfortable with vintage wear and careful use.

Q: What does the date code SD1908 mean?
A: Louis Vuitton date codes from this era indicate when the bag was made rather than serving as a unique serial number. Based on the standard format used in 2007 and later, SD1908 corresponds to production in the 10th week of 2008. The product information lists this item as made in France.

Q: How should I care for this vintage bag?
A: Store it in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and humidity, and avoid overfilling it so the shape stays neat. Because this bag has a strong vintage smell and interior wear, it is best to keep loose items inside a pouch and avoid harsh cleaning products or heavy scrubbing on the lining.

Q: How do you authenticate this bag?
A: Every item at A Retro Tale is carefully reviewed for authenticity using details such as materials, construction, hardware, markings, and date codes. We stand behind the authenticity of the pieces we sell.
