Louis VuittonPM Pochette Jour

Q: What typically fits in the Pochette Jour PM?
A: With approximate measurements of 24 × 17.5 × 1 cm, it neatly holds a large smartphone, passport, slim wallet or cardholder, keys, and an A5 notebook/diary. It is a slim profile pouch, so we recommend avoiding overfilling to maintain the shape and smooth zip action.

Q: Will it fit an iPad mini or small tablet/e-reader?
A: Yes, an iPad mini (8.3 in) or similarly sized small tablet/e‑reader fits comfortably, ideally with a slim case. Bulkier rugged cases may be too thick for the slim gusset.

Q: Does this specific piece have interior pockets or card slots?
A: This example has a beige suede lining with one main compartment and no built‑in card slots, exactly as listed. Some other Pochette Jour PM editions were produced with interior slots, but this one is the single‑compartment version.

Q: What is the difference between the Pochette Jour PM and GM sizes?
A: PM is the compact clutch/document pouch suited to daily essentials and small tablets. GM is the larger format (roughly 35 × 26 × 2.5 cm, model‑dependent) and better for documents or larger tablets. Always check the measurements on this page to confirm the exact size of this piece.

Q: Is the Pochette Jour designed to be carried by hand only?
A: Yes. Pochette Jour models are intended for hand carry or to be slipped into a larger bag. They do not typically feature D‑rings or strap loops. Adding third‑party hardware is not recommended as it can stress the zip and leather.

Q: How secure and practical is the L‑shaped zip?
A: The three‑sided, L‑shaped zip gives wide access and helps the pouch open flat enough for easy organisation while keeping contents secure when closed. Zip smoothly and avoid overstuffing to protect the teeth and tape.

Q: How should I care for the beige grained leather and suede lining?
A: Wipe the exterior occasionally with a soft, slightly damp cloth and dry immediately. Avoid oils, alcohol, and prolonged sun/heat exposure to prevent colour fading. With the light suede lining, keep pens capped and cosmetics in pouches; if needed, use a suede brush gently to lift dust. Store loosely stuffed in a breathable dust bag, away from humidity and dark colour transfer risks.

Q: What does the date code TH4157 mean?
A: TH indicates manufacture in France. The numbers show the week and year: 4 and 5 = 45th week; 1 and 7 = 2017. So this piece was produced in the 45th week of 2017. Note that date codes are not unique serial numbers, and since 2021 many new LV items use microchips instead of printed date codes.

Q: What accessories are included with this item?
A: This piece comes with a box. Everything included is always listed under Accessories on this page; if an item (such as a dust bag) is not listed, it is not included.

Q: How does A Retro Tale authenticate this piece?
A: Every item is vetted by our in‑house experts through multi‑point checks covering materials, stitching, hardware, stamps, and date code consistency. We stand behind the authenticity of all items we sell and can share additional details on request.
