Tiffany & CoHardWear Graduated Link Earrings

Q: What are these earrings made of?
A: They are crafted in sterling silver (Ag925) from Tiffany & Co.’s HardWear collection, known for its bold gauge-link design. Sterling silver contains 92.5% pure silver and takes a high polish, developing a natural patina over time that can be brightened with routine care.

Q: How big are they and how do they feel on the ear?
A: The drop is approximately 8 cm with a width of about 1.2 cm at the widest link. The graduated links give a statement look with a substantial feel, yet they are designed to be comfortable for extended wear. Perceived weight varies by wearer sensitivity.

Q: What type of fastening do they have?
A: These are for pierced ears and secure with traditional post-and-butterfly backs for a snug, reliable fit.

Q: Are they suitable for sensitive ears?
A: Most people with sensitive ears find sterling silver comfortable because it is primarily silver alloyed with non-nickel metals (typically copper). Individual reactions can vary; if you have a known metal allergy, we recommend a short wear test and professional advice if unsure.

Q: Will sterling silver tarnish, and how should I clean them?
A: Yes—tarnish is natural with sterling silver. Avoid bleach, chlorine, and harsh chemicals. To clean, use a specialised silver polish on a soft cloth, rinse with warm water, and dry thoroughly. Frequent gentle wear and proper storage in a soft pouch help minimise tarnish.

Q: Can I shower, swim, or sleep in them?
A: It’s best to remove sterling-silver jewellery before showering, swimming (especially in chlorinated or salt water), gym sessions, or sleeping. This helps prevent accelerated tarnish and unnecessary wear to the posts and backs.

Q: Do the links move or are they rigid?
A: The chain-style links are joined to allow natural movement, which adds to the fluid look and comfort when worn.

Q: What accessories are included with this pre-loved item?
A: This pair is sold without accessories. Everything included is always listed under the Accessories section on this page; if it isn’t listed there, it is not included.

Q: How do you authenticate Tiffany & Co. jewellery?
A: Every piece at A Retro Tale undergoes rigorous multi-point checks by our in-house experts. Typical Tiffany hallmarks include a metal purity stamp such as 925 for sterling silver along with the Tiffany & Co. maker’s mark; we also examine construction, finishing, and overall workmanship.
