ChanelCoco Collector Tote Bag

Q: What typically fits inside the Chanel Coco Collector Tote?
A: With approximate measurements of 29 × 30 × 9.5 cm, it comfortably holds A4 documents, an 11-inch tablet, long wallet, phone, keys, a small cosmetics pouch and a small water bottle. A 13-inch laptop is usually too wide to zip closed comfortably—please compare your device to the measurements on this page.

Q: Can I wear it crossbody and is the strap adjustable?
A: This tote has dual shoulder straps with an approximate 33 cm drop. The straps are fixed (not adjustable) and the design is for shoulder or hand carry rather than crossbody.

Q: What is the bag made from and how does it feel in use?
A: It features black quilted canvas with a white logo print, gold-tone hardware and a black leather lining with one internal zip pocket. The canvas keeps it relatively lightweight for daily use while the quilting adds gentle structure.

Q: Is the gold-tone hardware real gold and how does it age?
A: Chanel used 24k gold plating on much of its gold-coloured hardware until around late 2008, after which it moved to gold‑tone finishes. Vintage hardware can show light surface scratches with normal use but should retain its colour when cared for. This piece’s hardware is shiny with light scratches as noted in the condition report.

Q: How should I care for the canvas and printed logo?
A: Spot clean gently with a soft, slightly damp, non‑pilling cloth and avoid solvents or harsh cleaners. Limit friction against rough surfaces to preserve the print. Keep away from prolonged sunlight, heat and moisture, and store upright in a breathable dust bag with the straps wrapped to prevent impressions. Lightly stuff the bag to maintain shape.

Q: Is it water resistant?
A: Canvas is a textile and not fully waterproof. Avoid heavy rain. If the bag gets wet, blot gently with an absorbent, non‑pilling cloth and let it air dry away from direct heat sources.

Q: What is included with this item?
A: Everything included is listed under the product information on this page. For this item, a serial number tag is included. If a dust bag, authenticity card or any other item is not listed in the product information, it is not included.

Q: How do you authenticate this bag?
A: Each item at A Retro Tale is thoroughly vetted by our in‑house experts through multi‑point checks of materials, stitching, hardware engravings and serial stickers. Note that genuine vintage Chanel pieces may have lost their card or sticker over time; we assess authenticity holistically and stand behind every item we sell.

Q: Will a bag organiser help?
A: Yes. A lightweight organiser can add structure and protect the lining. Choose one slightly smaller than the interior base (around 27–28 cm × 8–9 cm) so the zip closes smoothly without stressing the canvas.
