LoeweCubi Messenger Bag

Q: What typically fits inside the Loewe Cubi Messenger Bag?
A: With dimensions of approximately 32 x 28 x 16 cm, it generally carries daily essentials with ease: smartphone, long wallet, keys, sunglasses in a slim case, cosmetics pouch, small water bottle, and an A5 notebook/diary. Capacity can vary slightly with shape and how you pack—please refer to the Measurements on this page or ask us for a tailored fit check for this exact piece.

Q: Will it fit a tablet, A4 documents or a 13-inch laptop?
A: Standard tablets (e.g., iPad, iPad Air/11-inch iPad Pro) usually fit comfortably. A4 papers or a slim folder may fit but can be snug due to the 28 cm height and the soft shape. A 13-inch laptop may fit if very slim and without a bulky sleeve; the opening and rounded corners can limit ease of access. Compare your device’s dimensions with the Measurements shown or ask us for a quick fit test.

Q: Is the strap adjustable and can I wear it crossbody?
A: Yes—the bag features a single adjustable canvas shoulder strap with LOEWE logo. The listed strap drop is around 50 cm, which allows comfortable shoulder or crossbody wear for many users. If you’d like an exact on-body reference, contact us and we’ll advise based on your height and preferred carry.

Q: How secure is the closure and what pockets does it have?
A: Many Cubi Messenger bags feature a zip-top main compartment for everyday security. This specific piece has a black canvas lining with one inner pocket, as shown in our photos. Please review the listing images for the exact closure and interior layout of this bag.

Q: What materials and hardware does this bag use?
A: This vintage Cubi Messenger is crafted in brown leather with a logo canvas strap, gold-tone hardware and a black canvas lining. It is made in Spain. Our photos and description reflect the exact materials and finish of this piece.

Q: How should I care for the leather and canvas strap?
A: Keep the bag away from moisture, oils and prolonged sunlight, and watch for colour transfer from dark denim. Wipe leather with a soft, dry cloth; condition smooth leather sparingly with a suitable neutral product (test first on a discreet area). Spot-clean the canvas strap gently with a slightly damp cloth and mild soap if needed, then air-dry. Store the bag lightly stuffed, upright, in its dust bag, and avoid overfilling to preserve its shape and the hardware alignment.

Q: Will the bag keep its structure or develop a slouch?
A: Loewe leathers are supple, and messenger silhouettes often relax slightly with wear, developing a soft, elegant drape. To help maintain shape, avoid overloading, rotate contents, and store the bag lightly padded and upright when not in use.

Q: Where are the LOEWE markings and codes located, and how is dating handled?
A: Authentic Loewe bags typically feature an interior heat-stamp (e.g., “LOEWE” and country of origin). Depending on era, there may be additional codes or labels inside (often on a leather tab or along a seam). Placement and format vary by production year. We’re happy to share close-up photos and help date this specific piece on request.

Q: Is the Cubi Messenger still produced?
A: Loewe’s Cubi line has seen various iterations; many earlier messenger-style versions are discontinued. The pre‑loved market is the best route to find this vintage configuration.

Q: What accessories are included and how do you authenticate?
A: This item is delivered with a dust bag, as listed under “Accessories.” If something isn’t mentioned there, it isn’t included—feel free to ask us to confirm. Every item at A Retro Tale undergoes rigorous, multi-point authentication by our in-house experts, assessing materials, stitching, hardware, stamps and overall construction.
