Louis VuittonMonogram Concorde Bag

Q: What typically fits inside the Louis Vuitton Monogram Concorde?
A: With its structured silhouette (approx. 26.5 × 19 × 6.5 cm), it suits daily essentials: a large smartphone, continental wallet, keys, slim sunglasses in a soft case, a small cosmetics pouch and a passport. An A5 notebook fits when placed horizontally; upright A4 documents do not. A 500 ml bottle can lie horizontally but may press on the flap—use a slimmer bottle for best results.

Q: Will it fit a tablet or e‑reader?
A: Compact tablets and e‑readers may fit horizontally if they’re slim and uncased (e.g., iPad mini‑sized devices). Due to the 19 cm height and structured compartments, taller tablets and 11–13 inch devices do not fit comfortably. Share your device’s measurements and we’ll perform a tailored fit check for this exact piece.

Q: Does it come with a shoulder strap, and can I wear it crossbody?
A: Some vintage Concorde examples were sold with an optional shoulder strap. This specific listing shows a single top handle (approx. 14 cm drop) and “Accessories” lists keys only—no strap is included unless explicitly stated. If you’d like to add a strap, ask us to confirm whether this piece has side rings suitable for an aftermarket strap and we’ll advise.

Q: How secure is the closure and how do I use the S‑lock with key?
A: The Concorde features Louis Vuitton’s signature S‑lock for a firm, secure closure. To lock/unlock: insert the key, turn gently to engage/disengage, then press the studs to release the flap. Avoid forcing the lock; always unlock before pressing. We recommend keeping the key separate from the bag when not in use and storing it in a small pouch to prevent hardware scratches. This piece includes keys as listed under “Accessories.”

Q: What is the interior layout?
A: Inside you’ll find a brown leather lining with two main compartments and a zipped pocket for valuables, helping keep essentials organised without over‑bulking the structured profile.

Q: What materials is it made from and how should I care for it?
A: It’s crafted in classic Monogram coated canvas with natural cowhide (vachetta) leather trim and gold‑tone hardware. Canvas is durable and wipe‑clean with a soft, dry cloth; keep leather away from water and oils as it will develop a natural patina over time and may show watermarks. Store the bag upright, lightly stuffed, in a breathable dust bag, and avoid prolonged sunlight or hanging by the handle. Hardware can show fine hairline scratches with normal use—minimise contact with abrasive surfaces.

Q: Is the Concorde still produced?
A: The Monogram Concorde is a discontinued/vintage style, originally produced in the late 1980s–1990s. Today it’s found through trusted pre‑loved specialists like A Retro Tale, and details (such as strap availability) may vary by year and release.

Q: Where is the date code and what does the code “A20914” mean?
A: Louis Vuitton date codes on vintage pieces are typically stamped on a small leather tab or directly on the lining, and from the 1990–2006 era they usually follow two letters + four numbers (letters = factory, numbers = month/year). Since 2021, LV transitioned to embedded microchips instead of visible date codes. The code shown here (“A20914”) does not follow LV’s standard date‑code formats and is likely a lock/key or internal reference rather than the production date. If you’d like, we’ll photograph the internal stamp/date code placement on this exact bag for you.

Q: What accessories are included and how do you authenticate?
A: Everything included is listed under “Accessories.” For this piece, keys are included; if a dust bag or strap isn’t mentioned, it isn’t included. Every item at A Retro Tale undergoes multi‑point authentication by our in‑house experts—reviewing materials, stitching, heat stamps, hardware (including the S‑lock), and interior codes—so you can purchase with confidence.
