PradaMedium Saffiano Panier Bag

Q: What typically fits inside the Prada Medium Saffiano Panier Bag?
A: With dimensions of approximately 29 × 23 × 14 cm, this Medium Panier is designed to hold your daily essentials comfortably. It easily accommodates a large smartphone, a continental wallet, a cosmetics pouch, sunglasses in a case, keys, and a standard tablet (e.g., iPad or iPad Air). Due to the structured bucket shape and 29 cm width, it is not sized for larger work items like laptops.

Q: Will it fit a laptop or A4 documents?
A: No, this bag generally does not fit a standard 13-inch laptop (which is typically around 30.5 cm wide) or A4 documents flat, as the bag’s base width is 29 cm. We recommend it for tablets and smaller notebooks. Please compare your device’s dimensions with the Measurements shown or ask us for a tailored fit check.

Q: Is the shoulder strap adjustable or removable? Can I wear it crossbody?
A: Yes, this bag features a detachable and adjustable leather shoulder strap (approx. 50 cm drop per the listing) allowing for shoulder or crossbody wear. It also has a single rolled top handle (approx. 10 cm drop) for hand or crook-of-arm carry.

Q: How secure is the closure?
A: The Panier bag features a magnetic tab closure at the top. While this provides easy access and keeps the opening streamlined, it is an open-top bucket style rather than a fully sealed zip bag. For security in crowded areas, we recommend keeping the bag close to your body and placing small valuables in the internal center pocket or a separate zip pouch.

Q: What is the interior layout and material?
A: The interior is lined in soft, contrasting red Nappa leather (smooth sheepskin), giving it a luxurious feel compared to the durable exterior. The space is divided into two main compartments by a central floating pocket, designed to help organize your belongings.

Q: What is Saffiano leather and how do I care for it?
A: Saffiano is Prada’s signature textured calfskin, treated with a wax finish and a cross-hatch pattern that makes it highly resistant to scratches and water. It is very durable for daily use. To clean the exterior, wipe gently with a soft, slightly damp cloth. The interior Nappa lining is more delicate; avoid placing sharp objects (like uncovered keys) directly against it to prevent scratches.

Q: Where are the brand markings and how do you authenticate?
A: This piece features the iconic leather triangle with metal lettering logo on the front. Authentic Prada bags also include an interior logo stamp and a “Made in Italy” marking (as noted in this listing). Every item at A Retro Tale undergoes rigorous multi-point authentication by our in-house experts to verify materials, hardware, stitching, and codes.

Q: What accessories are included with this bag?
A: This specific item includes the detachable shoulder strap and the leather luggage tag. Any other original accessories (such as a dust bag or box) are not included unless explicitly listed under the “Accessories” section. If you have questions about what comes with the bag, please feel free to ask.
