Chanel2.55 Reissue 227 Double Flap Bag

Q: What makes the Chanel 2.55 Reissue 227 different from the Classic Flap?
A: The Reissue stays closer to the original 2.55 concept, with a rectangular Mademoiselle turn-lock, an all-metal chain strap and a double-flap interior. The Classic Flap is the version most people recognise for its CC turn-lock and leather-woven chain.

Q: What typically fits inside this bag?
A: With measurements of approximately 31 x 22 x 11 cm, this is a roomy shoulder bag. It will usually hold a long wallet, phone, keys, sunglasses, a cosmetic pouch and other daily essentials, and it can often accommodate a small tablet or e-reader. Please use the Measurements on this page as your final guide.

Q: Can this bag be worn on the shoulder or crossbody?
A: The chain can be worn doubled for a shorter drop or singled for a longer drop. On most people, the 227 works best as a shoulder bag; whether it sits comfortably crossbody depends on height and frame, so it is best to compare the 30/50 cm strap measurement with a bag you already own.

Q: Is the 227 a good everyday size?
A: Yes, if you prefer a roomier Chanel bag. The 227 is widely regarded as one of the larger 2.55 Reissue sizes, so it offers stronger day-to-day capacity than the smaller Reissue formats. Because it is a larger double-flap design, it can also feel more substantial once filled.

Q: How delicate is patent leather?
A: Patent leather has a glossy finish, but it still needs careful handling. Avoid prolonged contact with dark fabrics, direct sunlight, humidity, perfume and harsh cleaning products, and avoid overfilling the bag if you want to help preserve its shape and finish.

Q: Does patent leather get colour transfer easily?
A: It can. Chanel’s own care guidance warns that patent leather may pick up dye from dark materials, and this specific bag already has colour transfer noted in the condition report. Extra care around dark denim and heavily dyed garments is advisable.

Q: What is the condition of this specific item?
A: This bag is listed in good condition. The exterior shows scuffing on the corners and colour transfer on the patent leather, the interior has a light trace of use, and the hardware remains shiny with light scratches.

Q: What is included with this item?
A: This piece includes the serial number listed on the product page. If an item is not listed in the product information, it should not be assumed to be included.

Q: Is the serial number enough to authenticate a Chanel bag?
A: No. A serial number is an important supporting detail, especially on pre-microchip Chanel pieces, but it should always be considered alongside the overall construction, materials, stitching, hardware and interior details.
