ChanelCC O Boy Clutch Bag

Q: What typically fits inside the Chanel CC O Boy Clutch Bag?
A: With dimensions of approximately 34.5 × 23.5 × 2 cm, it works best for flat essentials such as a large phone, card holder, keys, passport, sunglasses and a few slim cosmetics. It can also hold slim documents, but the narrow depth means bulky purses or thicker items will fill it quickly.

Q: Does this bag have a shoulder strap or wrist strap?
A: No strap is listed in the product information, so this piece should be considered a handheld clutch.

Q: How does the bag close?
A: It features a zip closure, which helps keep your essentials secure while maintaining the sleek, slim profile of the clutch.

Q: Is this more of an evening bag or can it be used in the daytime as well?
A: Both. Larger Chanel clutches are often chosen for day-to-evening use because they hold more than a small evening pouch while still looking polished and refined. This size works well for dinners, events, travel documents or elevated daytime essentials.

Q: What condition is this item in?
A: The bag is in very good condition with light traces of use. The interior is also in very good condition, and the gold-tone hardware remains shiny with light scratches.

Q: What is included with this bag?
A: The product information lists a box, authenticity card and serial number. If you would like confirmation of anything else, please contact us before purchase.

Q: When was this bag made?
A: The serial number begins with 23, which corresponds to 2017, and the bag is labelled as made in Italy.

Q: What makes the Boy style distinctive?
A: The Boy line is known for its more graphic, structured look compared with Chanel’s softer classic flap styles. It is recognised for bold lines, quilted leather and striking CC detailing, giving it a modern, edgy feel.

Q: How should I care for the leather and hardware?
A: Avoid overfilling the bag, prolonged sunlight, artificial light and moisture. If it gets wet, dab it dry with a soft absorbent cloth. For routine care, wipe it gently with a soft cloth and avoid harsh cleaning products. Store it lightly filled with tissue paper in a protective pouch or other soft storage solution to help preserve its shape.

Q: Is the authenticity card alone enough to verify authenticity?
A: Not on its own. For Chanel pieces from this era, the authenticity card should correspond with the serial number, but experienced authentication also considers leather, stitching, hardware, construction and finishing details. Every item at A Retro Tale is checked for authenticity before sale.
