ChanelCC Tote Bag

Q: What typically fits inside the Chanel CC Tote Bag?
A: With approximate measurements of 30 × 25 × 15 cm, it comfortably holds daily essentials such as a long wallet, phone, keys, sunglasses case, a cosmetic pouch, a small water bottle, and a tablet. Slim A4 papers or a thin folder may fit if placed horizontally; please refer to the Measurements on this page for exact sizing.

Q: Will a 13-inch laptop fit?
A: A very slim 13-inch device may fit snugly, but it depends on the exact model and any case you use. Measure your laptop’s width and height and compare them to the bag’s interior dimensions; allow a little tolerance so the turn-lock can close without strain.

Q: Can this tote be worn crossbody?
A: It includes a detachable shoulder strap. The listed strap measurement is approximately 45 cm, which is best suited to shoulder carry; worn crossbody it may sit high depending on your build. The dual top handles (approx. 15 cm) are ideal for hand or crook-of-arm carry.

Q: What is included with this piece?
A: Everything that comes with the bag is listed under product information. For this item, that includes a detachable shoulder strap and a serial number tag. If an item (for example, dust bag or authenticity card) is not stated in product information, it is not included.

Q: What does the serial number 7780116 indicate?
A: Chanel 7‑series serial numbers correspond to an approximate production window of 2002–2003. Chanel used interior serial stickers to help date pieces produced from the mid‑1980s up to 2021; later items use a microchip system. Location and look of the sticker can vary by model and year.

Q: Is the gold-tone hardware real gold?
A: Chanel used 24‑karat gold‑plated hardware up until around late 2008. As this tote dates to the early 2000s, pieces from this era typically featured gold plating. Normal vintage signs like micro‑scratches or mild dulling can appear over time and are noted in the condition report.

Q: How should I care for the beige leather and hardware?
A: Avoid overfilling to preserve the silhouette and keep the turn‑lock closing smoothly. Minimise colour transfer by avoiding prolonged contact with dark denim or garments. Wipe the leather and hardware gently with a soft, dry cloth after use, keep away from moisture/heat, and store upright, lightly stuffed, in a breathable dust bag. For deeper cleaning or conditioning, use specialist products sparingly or consult a leather care professional.

Q: Is the shoulder strap adjustable?
A: The strap is detachable; adjustability is not specified. Please review the photos and the Measurements listed (strap approx. 45 cm) to gauge how it will sit on you.

Q: What pockets and closure does it have?
A: It features a CC turn‑lock closure and a tonal fabric-lined interior with one internal zipped pocket for valuables. This layout keeps everyday items organised while maintaining the tote’s clean silhouette.

Q: How does A Retro Tale authenticate this bag?
A: Every item is rigorously vetted by our in‑house experts using multi‑point checks of materials, stitching, hardware, stamps and serial codes, and overall construction. We stand behind the authenticity of all items we sell and are happy to share additional photos or details on request.
