ChanelReissue 2.55 Chain Belt Bag

Q: What typically fits inside the Chanel Reissue 2.55 Chain Belt Bag?
A: With approximate measurements of 17 × 10 × 4.5 cm, it’s designed for essentials: a smartphone, cardholder or compact wallet, keys, lipstick and small items like earbuds. Continental wallets (around 19 cm long) generally do not fit; slim cardholders are ideal. If you’d like a tailored fit check for a specific item, just ask and we’ll test this exact piece.

Q: Will it fit larger smartphones (Plus/Pro Max sizes)?
A: Most large smartphones can fit when placed horizontally, but very bulky cases may make the fit snug due to the compact height and flap structure. For peace of mind, compare your phone’s dimensions with our Measurements or contact us and we’ll check the fit for this bag.

Q: How can it be worn and is the belt adjustable?
A: This style is intended for hands-free wear at the waist or hips. The wide leather belt strap on this piece measures approximately 75 cm; exact hole settings vary by item. It is not designed for true crossbody wear on most frames. If you need extra length or additional holes, a professional leather specialist can usually assist—contact us for guidance.

Q: Is the belt removable and can I use my own belt?
A: The pouch typically has rear belt loops so the leather belt can be threaded through and removed, allowing you to swap in a similar-width belt if desired. If you’d like us to confirm loop width and belt compatibility for this specific bag, we’re happy to measure.

Q: How secure is the closure and what is the interior like?
A: The flap closes with Chanel’s signature Mademoiselle turn‑lock for everyday security. Inside you’ll find a black jacquard fabric lining with one internal zip pocket to organise smaller valuables. Our listing photos show the exact layout of this piece.

Q: What leather is used and how do I care for it?
A: Many Reissue belt bags are crafted in aged (crinkled) calfskin, chosen for its resilience and vintage character; this piece is black leather with silver‑tone hardware. Keep it away from moisture, oils and prolonged sunlight; wipe with a soft, dry cloth. Condition smooth areas very sparingly with a high‑quality neutral product after testing on a discreet spot. Store the bag upright, lightly stuffed, with the belt tucked inside and hardware padded to prevent impressions.

Q: Is this Reissue 2.55 belt bag still produced?
A: The Reissue 2.55 remains a Chanel icon, but belt bag interpretations tend to appear seasonally and are not part of the core, continuously offered assortment. Today they are most often found through the pre‑loved market. Availability can vary by season and region.

Q: Where are the Chanel markings and codes located?
A: Authentic Chanel bags include an interior brand stamp and, depending on production era, either a serial number sticker (historically) or an embedded microchip system introduced in recent years. Placement varies by model and year and is usually inside the main compartment or pocket. If you’d like close‑up photos of markings for this piece, just ask.

Q: What accessories are included with this listing?
A: For this specific bag we list: no accessories. If an item such as a dust bag or box is not mentioned under Accessories, it is not included—feel free to contact us to confirm.

Q: How do you authenticate?
A: Every item at A Retro Tale undergoes rigorous, multi‑point authentication by our in‑house experts, who examine materials, stitching, hardware, stamps, serial sticker/microchip format (when applicable) and overall construction. We stand behind the authenticity of every piece we sell.
