ChanelTweed Patent Camellia Accordion Flap Bag

Q: What typically fits inside this bag?
A: With approximate measurements of 35 × 25 × 15 cm, it comfortably holds daily essentials such as a wallet, phone, keys, small makeup pouch, sunglasses case, and a diary. It can also accommodate a 13‑inch laptop in a slim sleeve and an A4 document folder when not overfilled. For exact sizing, please refer to the Measurements on this page.

Q: Can I wear it cross‑body?
A: The dual chain‑and‑leather shoulder straps have an approximate drop of 26 cm and are designed for shoulder carry. They are not adjustable and will be too short for most people to wear cross‑body.

Q: Is the exterior tweed or leather?
A: The exterior is black patent leather embossed with the Camellia motif. Despite the style name referencing “tweed,” this piece is not made from tweed fabric.

Q: What does the Camellia motif signify at Chanel?
A: The camellia is an enduring house emblem associated with elegance and timeless style. It appears across Chanel creations, from jewellery to handbags, and is a signature decorative theme.

Q: How should I care for the patent leather?
A: Avoid prolonged contact between light and dark colours to reduce the risk of dye transfer, keep the bag away from direct heat and long exposure to sunlight, and do not overfill to preserve the shape. Wipe the surface with a soft, non‑pilling cloth and store it stuffed to support the accordion structure.

Q: Is patent leather waterproof?
A: Patent leather is more water‑resistant than many leathers but not fully waterproof. If it gets wet, gently blot dry with a soft, absorbent cloth and allow it to air dry away from heat sources.

Q: Does patent leather suffer from colour transfer or stickiness over time?
A: Community experience suggests patent leather—especially in light colours—can be prone to colour transfer if rubbed against dark fabrics and may feel tacky in hot, humid conditions. Storing separately in a breathable dust bag and avoiding tight contact with dyed textiles helps minimise issues.

Q: What is included with this item?
A: Everything included is listed under the product information section. For this piece, the listing notes an authenticity card and a serial number. If you need clarification, please contact us before purchase.

Q: What year does the 14‑series serial number indicate?
A: A Chanel serial number beginning with 14 typically dates to around 2011. The serial number in this bag confirms production from that period, aligning with the product’s vintage status.

Q: How does A Retro Tale verify authenticity?
A: Every item is thoroughly examined by our in‑house experts using multi‑point checks of materials, construction, stamps, hardware, and serial details. We stand behind the authenticity of all items we sell and can share additional product information or images on request.
