It does not comfortably fit A4 documents; compact tablets and e-readers may fit depending on case thickness. Please refer to the Measurements on this page for exact sizing.

Q: Does this bag come with a shoulder strap?
A: This piece is designed to be carried by hand via its dual rolled leather handles. There is no shoulder strap. The handle drop is approximately 10 cm for handheld comfort.

Q: What is the bag made of and how should I care for it?
A: The exterior is grey Cannage denim with black leather trim and silver-tone hardware. For care, avoid prolonged rubbing against light or dark garments to minimise colour transfer, keep the bag away from moisture and oils, and spot-clean denim gently with a soft, slightly damp cloth. For leather trim, use a dedicated leather conditioner sparingly. Always test any product on a discreet area first and consider professional cleaning for stubborn marks.

Q: Is denim prone to colour transfer or fading?
A: Yes, denim can transfer dye, especially when new or when rubbed against contrasting fabrics. To reduce risk, avoid prolonged friction with light-coloured clothing, allow any fabric protector to cure fully before use, and store away from direct sunlight to minimise fading over time.

Q: What does Cannage mean on Dior bags?
A: Cannage is Dior’s signature geometric motif inspired by the woven cane seats of Napoleon III-style chairs used in the original couture salons at 30 Avenue Montaigne. It has been a house code across bags and small leather goods for decades.

Q: Where can I find the Dior date/serial code and what should it look like?
A: On most Dior handbags, the production code is located on the reverse of the interior leather logo tag or on a small leather tab inside a pocket. Newer bags typically feature a code in the format of two numbers, two letters, then four numbers, while some older pieces may use shorter variations. Codes can fade with wear and are only one part of authentication.

Q: Is this item authentic?
A: Yes. Every piece at A Retro Tale is rigorously authenticated by our in-house experts using multi-point checks of materials, stitching, hardware, stamps and production codes. We stand behind the authenticity of all items we sell and are happy to provide further details on request.

Q: What is included with this item?
A: Everything included is listed in the product information section. For this piece, no additional items are included beyond the bag itself.

Q: How noticeable are the signs of wear on this bag?
A: External condition is noted as Good with scuffing at the corners and a few marks on the denim. The interior is Very Good with light signs of use, and the hardware is shiny with light scratches. Please review the photos for a close-up view of wear.

Q: How should I store the bag when not in use?
A: Store it loosely stuffed to maintain shape, in a breathable dust bag, in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and heat sources. Keep hardware and corners away from abrasive surfaces, and avoid overfilling to preserve the structure.
