Christian DiorNecklace

Q: What is the length and can it be adjusted?
A: The chain measures approximately 45 cm and can be worn slightly shorter or longer thanks to the lobster clasp and adjustable links. 45 cm is roughly 17.7 inches, sitting around the collarbone on most wearers.

Q: What materials are typical for vintage Christian Dior necklaces like this one?
A: Most vintage Dior fashion necklaces are crafted in gold‑tone plating over a base metal (often brass) with glass or crystal stones. Exact metal composition can vary by era and maker; the blue and turquoise‑coloured stones on this pendant are consistent with crystal or glass settings found on Dior costume jewellery.

Q: Are the blue and turquoise stones real gemstones?
A: In Dior fashion jewellery, coloured stones are usually high‑quality glass or crystals rather than natural gemstones. This gives vibrant colour and sparkle while keeping the piece lightweight.

Q: How should I care for the gold‑tone plating?
A: Wipe after each wear with a soft, dry cloth, avoid contact with water, perfume, lotions and hairspray, and store in a dry pouch or box away from other pieces to minimise scratches. Occasional gentle cleaning with a damp cloth followed by thorough drying is fine; do not use abrasive cleaners or ultrasonic machines.

Q: Can I wear it in the shower or while swimming?
A: No. Water, chlorine and salt accelerate wear of gold‑tone plating and can dull the stones. Remove the necklace before bathing, exercising or applying cosmetics to preserve the finish.

Q: Will vintage Dior fashion jewellery tarnish or fade?
A: With regular wear, plating can gradually dull or wear at high‑contact points. Good care slows this, and a professional jeweller can re‑plate the piece in future to refresh the colour if desired.

Q: Is this necklace nickel‑free and suitable for sensitive skin?
A: Vintage fashion jewellery may contain trace nickel depending on the alloy and era, so we cannot guarantee it is nickel‑free. If you have sensitive skin, consider a clear jewellery barrier on contact points, wear over clothing when possible, and discontinue wear if irritation occurs; a dermatologist can advise on testing if needed.

Q: How are Dior vintage necklaces authenticated and which stamps should I expect?
A: A Retro Tale authenticates every item using multi‑point checks of construction, materials, hardware and hallmarks. Dior signatures vary by era and may read “Chr. Dior”, “Christian Dior”, sometimes with a © and year, or include maker marks like Grosse Germany; stamps are often on a small plaque or near the clasp. We can share additional photos of signatures on request.

Q: What is included with this piece?
A: The necklace is sold as shown. Everything included is listed under product information; if an item such as a box or dust pouch is not listed there, it is not included.
