GucciBamboo 1947 Medium Top Handle Bag

Q: What makes the Gucci Bamboo 1947 bag special?
A: The Bamboo 1947 line refers to Gucci’s iconic bamboo-handle design first introduced in 1947. This particular piece pairs that signature look with brown leather, gold-tone hardware, a bamboo top handle, and a bamboo turn-lock closure for a timeless vintage feel.

Q: What typically fits inside this medium bag?
A: With approximate measurements of 27 x 18 x 7 cm, it is well suited to daily essentials such as a phone, keys, a card holder or slim wallet, lipstick, and sunglasses. It is best for compact essentials rather than larger items like a tablet or laptop.

Q: How is this bag carried?
A: This style is designed to be carried by hand or in the crook of the arm using the bamboo top handle. The handle drop is approximately 13 cm. No shoulder strap is listed in the product information for this item.

Q: How is the interior organised?
A: The bag has a leather-lined interior with one internal pocket, which is useful for keeping smaller essentials separate. It closes with a distinctive bamboo turn-lock at the front.

Q: What is the condition of this particular bag?
A: This bag is listed in very good vintage condition. The exterior shows light traces of use, the interior has pen marks, and the hardware remains shiny with light scratches.

Q: Are any extras included with this bag?
A: No extras are listed in the product information for this item. If you would like to confirm anything that is not shown or described, it is best to ask before purchase.

Q: Is the bamboo handle durable?
A: Yes, the bamboo handle is one of Gucci’s most recognisable design details and is intended to be sturdy for regular use. As with any structured natural-material detail, it should still be handled with care and kept away from unnecessary strain, knocks, and prolonged moisture.

Q: How should I care for the leather and bamboo parts?
A: Gently wipe the bag with a soft, dry cloth, avoid direct heat, strong sunlight, and rain, and do not overload it. For storage, keep it lightly stuffed to help maintain its shape and place it in a breathable protective bag. If you have a bamboo handle retainer, using it during storage can help preserve the handle shape.

Q: Is this an authentic Gucci bag?
A: Every item sold by A Retro Tale is carefully checked for authenticity by in-house experts. Assessments typically include materials, construction, hardware, brand details, and overall consistency before the item is offered for sale.
