HermèsBirkin 35 Béton Togo Bag

Q: How big is the Birkin 35 and what typically fits inside?
A: The Birkin 35 measures approximately 35 × 25 × 18 cm. It comfortably fits everyday work essentials such as a 13-inch laptop in a slim sleeve, A4 documents, a small water bottle, wallet, phone, keys, and a cosmetic pouch. Capacity varies with how you pack; refer to the Measurements on this page for exact dimensions.

Q: Is the Birkin 35 heavy to carry?
A: The Birkin 35 is considered substantial. In Togo leather an empty bag is roughly around 1.0–1.1 kg, and the weight increases with contents. Many owners note it can feel heavy over longer days, so consider what you plan to carry.

Q: Does a Birkin come with a shoulder strap?
A: No. The classic Birkin is designed for hand or crook-of-arm carry via its dual rolled handles. This piece has an approximate handle drop of 11 cm, as listed in the Measurements.

Q: What is the Béton colour like in person?
A: Béton is a refined light stone-grey neutral that sits between true whites (like Nata/Craie) and mid-greys. It reads cool and modern, and the gold-plated hardware on this piece adds warmth and contrast. As with all light neutrals, the tone may look slightly warmer or cooler depending on lighting.

Q: Will a light colour like Béton show marks or denim transfer?
A: Light leathers can be more susceptible to colour transfer from dark fabrics (especially new denim). To minimise risk, avoid prolonged rubbing against dark clothing, rotate where the bag rests, and wipe the surface gently after wear. If transfer occurs, seek a professional handbag spa rather than harsh cleaners.

Q: What is Togo leather and how should I care for it?
A: Togo is a grained calfskin known for its pebble texture, relative scratch resistance, and ability to hold structure with a soft, relaxed drape over time. Care is simple: periodically wipe with a soft, dry cloth; keep away from oils, cosmetics, and prolonged sun or heat; avoid rain where possible and blot dry immediately if wet. Store upright in a breathable dust bag, lightly stuffed to support the shape. Use any leather conditioner sparingly and pH-neutral, only when needed.

Q: What is included with this item?
A: According to the product information, this piece includes padlock, keys, and clochette. Items such as a dust bag, box, or rain cover are included only if specifically stated in the product information.

Q: What does the Square F date stamp mean on this bag?
A: Square F corresponds to the production year 2002 in the Hermès blind-stamp system.

Q: What should I know about the hardware on this bag?
A: Hermès Birkin hardware is plated; this example features gold-plated hardware. Light hairline scratches are normal with gentle use. When storing, use the felt protectors (if provided) and avoid contact with abrasive surfaces to help preserve the finish.
