HermèsFelt Picotin Lock 18 Bag

Q: What typically fits inside the Hermès Felt Picotin Lock 18 Bag?
A: Based on this item's compact 18 format and measurements of approximately 18 x 17 x 13 cm, it is best for daily essentials such as a phone, keys, a cardholder or compact wallet, sunglasses and a few small cosmetics. A slim long wallet may fit depending on shape, but bulkier items will reduce the space quickly.

Q: Is the Picotin Lock 18 a good everyday size?
A: Yes, if you prefer a light, compact bag for the basics. The 18 is widely considered one of the most versatile Picotin sizes for everyday errands and city use, but if you usually carry a water bottle, tablet or larger pouch, you may find it too small.

Q: Can this bag be worn on the shoulder or crossbody?
A: This model is designed to be carried by hand or in the crook of the arm. It has dual flat handles with an approximate 13 cm handle drop, and no shoulder strap is listed for this item. Some owners experiment with added straps, but that is not the intended carry style for the Picotin.

Q: How secure is the closure?
A: The leather pull-through strap and padlock help cinch the opening, but the Picotin remains a more open bucket style rather than a fully enclosed zipped bag. It is convenient for quick access, though best suited to essentials you are comfortable keeping in an open-top design.

Q: Does this bag have a lining or interior pockets?
A: No. This piece has an unlined interior with a leather base, which keeps the bag light and relaxed. There are no interior pockets listed, so many owners use a small pouch or organiser for smaller items.

Q: What is special about the felt and leather version?
A: This variation combines navy felt with black leather trim and palladium hardware for a softer, more textural take on the Picotin. Felt styles are often appreciated for their lighter feel and distinctive look, though they can show lint and benefit from a little extra care compared with full leather versions.

Q: How should I care for a felt Picotin with leather trim?
A: Handle it gently and avoid heavy rain, rough surfaces and overfilling. Use a soft brush or lint roller for the felt, wipe the leather trim lightly with a soft dry cloth, and store the bag lightly stuffed in a breathable dust bag when not in use. It is best to avoid prolonged moisture, heat and direct sunlight.

Q: What does the serial number Y (2020) mean?
A: The blind stamp Y indicates a 2020 production year for this Hermès bag. On pre-owned Hermès pieces, the stamp helps identify the production period alongside other construction details.

Q: What is included with this bag, and what is its condition?
A: According to the product information, this bag includes the padlock. It is described as being in very good condition, with light traces of use to the exterior and interior, and hardware that remains shiny with light scratches.
