Dimensions & Specifications

Q: What size is this watch, and how does it wear on the wrist?
A: This watch has a 23 mm case, which gives it a compact, elegant presence on the wrist. It is ideal if you prefer a smaller watch with a refined, fashion-forward look rather than an oversized style.

Q: Can the leather strap be replaced in the future?
A: In many cases, yes. Leather straps on vintage Hermès watches can often be replaced when worn, although availability and fit can vary by model. Many buyers choose to preserve the original hardware and have a specialist fit a compatible replacement strap if needed.

Please note that the majority of our items are vintage and therefore have tales to tell unless stated otherwise. Therefore, please look at pictures, descriptions and measurements provided as they give you the best idea of the story this item has to tell.

* Please note that when you buy a vintage product, the dimensions may vary slightly from a new one depending on previous care and storage.

SHIPPING

All orders are insured and trackable. Once your shipment has been issued, a link to our Track & Trace service will be provided where you can track your shipment and check delivery status online.

We ship all orders from Sweden, and when importing to Canada your order may be subject to import duties and sales tax, which will be charged to you upon delivery by the shipping carrier.

Q: What makes the Hermès Medor watch distinctive?
A: The Medor is known for its signature pyramid-shaped cover that hides the dial beneath. On this piece, the cover opens to reveal a white dial, giving the watch its iconic jewellery-like, secret-watch look.

Q: What size is this watch, and how does it wear on the wrist?
A: This watch has a 23 mm case, which gives it a compact, elegant presence on the wrist. It is ideal if you prefer a smaller watch with a refined, fashion-forward look rather than an oversized style.

Q: What materials and colours does this watch feature?
A: According to the product information, this Hermès Medor watch features a red leather strap, gold-tone hardware, a hinged pyramid stud cover and a white dial. It is a striking colour combination that blends classic Hermès styling with a bold vintage feel.

Q: What is the condition of this watch?
A: This watch is listed in Very Good condition. The exterior and internal condition are both described as showing light traces of use, while the hardware remains shiny with light scratches consistent with careful pre-owned wear.

Q: Does this watch come with box, papers or other extras?
A: No. The product information states that this watch comes with no accessories. If you would like to confirm anything included with the watch, please refer to the product information on this page.

Q: Is this a battery-powered watch?
A: Hermès Medor watches in this reference family are commonly found with quartz movements, meaning they are typically battery-powered. As with most vintage watches, we recommend servicing and battery changes through a trusted watchmaker familiar with luxury timepieces.

Q: Can I wear this watch in water?
A: We do not recommend exposing a vintage leather-strap watch to water. Even if a watch was originally designed with some water resistance, age, seals and the leather strap all make it best suited to dry everyday wear rather than showering, swimming or sports use.

Q: Where was this watch made?
A: The product information lists Switzerland as the country of origin, which is in keeping with Hermès watchmaking standards for Swiss-made timepieces.

Q: How do you authenticate vintage Hermès watches?
A: At A Retro Tale, every item is carefully reviewed for authenticity using detailed checks of craftsmanship, materials, hardware, markings and overall construction. This helps ensure that each vintage piece meets our standards before it is offered for sale.
