Louis VuittonDamier Ebene Totally PM Bag

Q: What fits comfortably in the Totally PM?
A: It is a compact everyday tote. Expect room for a long wallet, phone, keys, a small cosmetic pouch, sunglasses, and a compact tablet (up to around 11 inches) placed horizontally. A4 documents do not sit upright neatly at this height and a 13-inch laptop is generally too large. Please refer to the Measurements on this page for exact dimensions.

Q: Is the Totally PM still in production?
A: The Totally line has been discontinued and is now available mainly through trusted resale. It first appeared in the late 2000s and was phased out in the mid‑2010s. A similar zip‑top tote silhouette later offered by Louis Vuitton was the Iéna.

Q: Does this model have a secure closure and pockets?
A: Yes. It features a full zip‑top closure, two exterior side pockets for quick‑access items, and a red textile interior with multiple slip pockets to help keep contents organised.

Q: Are the straps adjustable? Can it be worn crossbody?
A: The dual flat shoulder straps are not adjustable and the bag is not designed for crossbody wear. The drop on this piece is approximately 21 cm as listed in the Measurements.

Q: What does the date code DU0186 mean on this bag?
A: Louis Vuitton’s alphanumeric date codes indicate place and time of manufacture. DU denotes a French workshop; the numbers show week and year. DU0186 corresponds to the 8th week of 2016, made in France.

Q: What is Damier Ebene canvas and how durable is it?
A: Damier Ebene is a coated canvas known for being lightweight and hard‑wearing, paired with dark brown treated leather trim and gold‑tone hardware. It is water‑resistant (not waterproof) and stands up well to daily use when cared for properly.

Q: How should I care for this vintage piece?
A: Wipe the coated canvas with a soft, slightly damp cloth and dry immediately. Avoid harsh chemicals, alcohol‑based sanitisers, and leather conditioners on the canvas. Keep the bag away from prolonged heat and direct sunlight, do not overfill, and store it stuffed to maintain shape in a breathable dust bag when not in use.

Q: Will an A4 folder or laptop fit?
A: An A4 folder does not fit comfortably upright due to the 25 cm height and zip opening; a slim tablet may fit horizontally, but standard laptops do not. If you need to carry A4 regularly, consider the MM size in this style family.

Q: What is included with this item?
A: Everything included is listed in the product information on this page. If an item such as a dust bag or box is not listed there, it is not included.

Q: How does A Retro Tale authenticate this bag?
A: Every piece undergoes rigorous multi‑point checks by our in‑house experts, including materials, stitching, hardware, heat stamps, and date code assessment. We stand behind the authenticity of all items we sell and can share further details on request.
