Louis VuittonDamier Salt Stone Grey Trio Messenger Bag

Q: What are the measurements and what does it typically fit?
A: The Trio Messenger is around 25 x 18.5 x 7 cm. Based on these measurements, it comfortably carries a phone, compact wallet, passport, keys, sunglasses case and a small notebook. A small tablet up to roughly 20 x 13.5 cm (such as most iPad mini models) generally fits, while larger tablets like 11-inch iPad models do not.

Q: Are the three pieces detachable and usable separately?
A: Yes. The Trio combines a main pouch, a removable front zipped pocket and a small coin purse clipped to the strap. Each can be detached and used on its own for flexible styling and organisation.

Q: Is the strap adjustable? What drop can I expect?
A: Yes. The textile strap is both removable and adjustable, with an approximate drop range of 40–64 cm, so it can be worn crossbody or on the shoulder.

Q: What exactly is Damier Salt in Stone Grey?
A: Damier Salt is the House’s checkerboard rendered with a washed, weathered finish that creates a soft, lived‑in look. The Stone Grey colourway gives a light grey, tonal effect across the pattern and trim, as intended by the design.

Q: What materials is this model made from?
A: It is crafted in coated canvas with cowhide leather trim, silver‑tone hardware and a textile lining, and includes an interior flat pocket for small essentials.

Q: How should I care for the coated canvas and leather trim?
A: Wipe the coated canvas with a soft cloth lightly dampened with water and mild soapy water when needed. Avoid alcohol‑based products, oils, solvents and household cleaners. Do not over‑pack; store the bag loosely stuffed in a breathable dust bag, away from heat and direct sunlight.

Q: Is it waterproof?
A: No. Coated canvas is sturdy and can be wiped clean after light moisture, but the bag is not waterproof. Avoid heavy rain or submersion and always dry it promptly if it gets wet.

Q: Does this piece have a date code?
A: Louis Vuitton began phasing out visible date codes in 2021 and moved to embedded microchips. Depending on production date, your bag may have a classic date code or a microchip. The chip is not readable by standard smartphones. Every item at A Retro Tale is authenticated via multi‑point expert checks.

Q: What is included with this listing?
A: Everything included is shown in the product information on this page. For this item, the product information lists a detachable shoulder strap and a detachable coin purse. If an item such as a dust bag or box is not listed there, it is not included.

Q: Any styling tips for the Trio format?
A: Wear all three pieces together for maximum capacity, use just the front pouch for a slim crossbody look, or clip the coin purse to the strap or your keys for quick access to cards and coins.
