Louis VuittonJewellery Case

Q: What is the Louis Vuitton Jewellery Case?
A: A compact, vintage Louis Vuitton accessory designed to store and protect small jewellery items. This piece is crafted in Monogram coated canvas with gold‑tone hardware, features a beige Alcantara lining with a removable pouch, and closes with a press‑stud. Measurements are approximately 7 (H) x 7 (W) x 2 (D); as with vintage items, interior details can vary by model and year—please review our photos for the exact layout of this case.

Q: What can it hold and how should I use the removable pouch?
A: It’s ideal for rings, stud earrings, small pendants and delicate chains. The removable pouch helps separate items to reduce scratching. For longer chains, coil gently and place them in the pouch to minimise tangling. Large bangles, chunky necklaces or watch rolls may not fit comfortably due to the compact profile.

Q: Is it suitable for travel and how secure is the closure?
A: Yes—its slim, structured shape fits easily into handbags and carry‑on luggage. The press‑stud closure is secure for everyday use; when travelling, keep the case inside a zipped compartment and avoid overfilling so the stud can close without strain.

Q: What is the canvas made of and how should I care for it?
A: Louis Vuitton’s Monogram is a coated canvas that is light, durable and water‑resistant but not waterproof. Wipe gently with a soft, slightly damp cloth; avoid soaking, solvents, abrasive sponges and harsh chemicals. Keep away from prolonged heat or direct sunlight and store in a dry, ventilated place.

Q: How do I care for the Alcantara lining?
A: Dust routinely with a soft brush or dry cloth. For routine cleaning, lightly pass a slightly moistened white cotton cloth over the lining—do not oversaturate—and allow to air‑dry, then brush gently to restore the nap. Avoid printed tissues (ink transfer) and aggressive cleaners.

Q: How should I maintain the gold‑tone hardware?
A: Polish occasionally with a soft, dry microfibre cloth. Avoid abrasive cleaners or contact with hard surfaces that can scratch. Minor hairline scratches are normal with use; store the case so hardware doesn’t rub against other metal items.

Q: Does this pre‑owned item come with the original box or dust bag?
A: No. This listing is marked “no accessories,” so an original box or dust bag is not included. Please refer to the Accessories section and photos for what’s provided.

Q: Where is it made and will it have a date code or microchip?
A: The country of origin label indicates France. Older Louis Vuitton items may feature a stamped date code; since 2021, many new items use embedded microchips and no visible code. Presence or absence of a code is not definitive for authenticity—A Retro Tale applies rigorous multi‑point checks on every item we sell.

Q: Can Louis Vuitton repair or service this case?
A: Louis Vuitton offers repairs subject to in‑store assessment; availability, timelines and costs vary by item, age and condition. For vintage pieces, outcomes depend on parts and workshop policies. Contact your local LV boutique for options.

Q: Any storage tips to preserve the case?
A: Store clean and dry, away from humidity and direct sunlight. Keep jewellery separated (use small pouches) to prevent abrasion on the Alcantara. Avoid overfilling to protect the press‑stud and maintain shape; periodically air the case to prevent mustiness.
