OmegaConstellation 24mm 1997 Watch

Q: What are the key details of this Omega Constellation watch?
A: This is a vintage Omega Constellation from 1997 with reference 1562.40.00. It features a stainless steel case and bracelet, a grey textured dial, an engraved Roman numeral bezel, and a folding clasp closure.

Q: Is this watch quartz or automatic?
A: This model uses a quartz movement, so it is battery powered rather than automatic. Quartz watches are valued for their convenience, slim profile and reliable everyday accuracy.

Q: What size is the watch, and who is it best suited to?
A: This watch is listed as 24 mm and wears as a compact, elegant vintage size. It is best suited to those who prefer a smaller wristwatch profile, and the current bracelet fit is for a 17 cm wrist or smaller.

Q: Can the bracelet be adjusted?
A: The bracelet can usually be reduced by removing links. If you need a larger fit, additional links would need to be sourced separately, as this piece is sold with no product information and no extra links are included.

Q: Is it suitable for everyday wear?
A: Yes, this Omega Constellation is well suited to daily wear thanks to its stainless steel construction and classic design. As a vintage watch, we still recommend treating it with sensible care and avoiding unnecessary knocks or rough handling.

Q: Is the watch water resistant?
A: The reference is associated with 30 m water resistance, which is best viewed as protection against light splashes rather than swimming or prolonged water exposure, especially for a vintage piece. For older watches, water resistance should never be assumed unless it has been recently pressure tested.

Q: What condition is the watch in?
A: The external condition is listed as good, the internal condition as very good, and the hardware as shiny with light scratches. This means you should expect gentle signs of age and use consistent with a vintage watch, while the overall presentation remains attractive and wearable.

Q: Does this watch come with box, papers or other extras?
A: No, this piece is sold with no product information. If an original box, papers, spare links or other extras are not listed on the page, they are not included with the watch.

Q: How often does a quartz Omega typically need servicing or a battery change?
A: Quartz Omega watches usually need a battery change every few years, depending on use. For best care, it is wise to have the battery replaced by a professional and to have the seals and water resistance checked regularly, particularly on a vintage watch.

Q: How do you authenticate a vintage Omega watch?
A: Every item sold by A Retro Tale is authenticated by in-house experts. Authentication typically includes checking the reference details, movement type, dial and case characteristics, finishing, engravings, and overall construction against known brand standards.
