PradaNappa Gaufre Bow Bag

Q: What size is this Prada Nappa Gaufre Bow Bag?
A: This medium-sized shoulder bag measures approximately 32 x 21 x 12 cm. It offers enough room for everyday essentials while still keeping a soft, elegant silhouette.

Q: What typically fits inside this bag?
A: It is well suited to daily essentials such as a phone, compact wallet, keys, sunglasses, and a few small cosmetics. The top zip closure helps keep everything secure, and the interior zip pocket is useful for smaller valuables.

Q: Can this bag be worn on the shoulder?
A: Yes. This bag features a single leather shoulder strap and is designed to be carried comfortably on the shoulder. The strap drop is approximately 20 cm, so it sits neatly under the arm for most wearers.

Q: What material is this bag made from?
A: This piece is crafted from yellow Gaufre nappa leather with gold-tone hardware. Prada's Gaufre finish is known for its softly gathered, textured look, which gives the bag a feminine and distinctive vintage character.

Q: What is the condition of this bag?
A: The overall condition is Good. The exterior shows discoloration, scuffs, and marks, the interior has stains, and the hardware remains shiny with light scratches. As this is a vintage item, gentle signs of wear are to be expected and form part of its pre-owned character.

Q: Does this bag come with anything included?
A: Yes. This item includes a dust bag. Please refer to the product information for the full list of what is included with this specific piece.

Q: How should I care for vintage nappa leather?
A: Nappa leather is soft and luxurious, so it should be handled with care. We recommend wiping it gently with a soft, dry cloth, avoiding harsh cleaners, and storing it in its dust bag in a well-ventilated space away from direct heat and damp. Because this bag is a light yellow shade, extra care should be taken to avoid colour transfer and further staining.

Q: Is the Gaufre leather supposed to look softly ruched?
A: Yes. The gathered, padded appearance is a signature part of Prada's Gaufre design. It is meant to have a softly textured, ruched look rather than a flat, structured finish.

Q: How can I check whether a vintage Prada bag is authentic?
A: Authentic vintage Prada bags are typically assessed through a combination of details such as the leather quality, logo plaque, lining, hardware, stitching, and interior tags or labels where applicable. As with many vintage Prada pieces, accessories can vary over time, so authentication should never rely on one detail alone. Every item sold by A Retro Tale is professionally authenticated before listing.

Q: Is this a practical everyday bag or more of an occasion piece?
A: It can work as both. Its medium size and secure zip-top design make it practical for everyday use, while the yellow nappa leather, front bow detail, and gold-tone hardware give it a statement look that also suits dressier outfits.
