GucciBamboo 1947 Medium Top Handle Bag

Q: What fits inside the Gucci Bamboo 1947 Medium Top Handle Bag?
A: This medium size is well suited to daily essentials such as a phone, cardholder or wallet, keys, sunglasses, lipstick and a few small extras. With measurements of approximately 27 x 19 x 8 cm, it offers a structured interior that is practical without feeling oversized. Please refer to the measurements on this page for the most accurate size reference.

Q: Can this bag be carried on the shoulder as well as by hand?
A: Yes. This bag has a single bamboo top handle for hand carry and also includes a detachable leather shoulder strap for hands-free wear. The strap drop is approximately 50 cm, while the handle drop is approximately 10 cm.

Q: Is the Gucci Bamboo 1947 considered a practical everyday bag?
A: Yes, for many people it is. The medium size is often considered one of the most usable versions in the Bamboo 1947 line because it balances structure, elegance and enough room for essentials. Its flap top and secure turn-lock closure also make it a practical choice for day-to-evening use.

Q: Is this bag heavy?
A: The Bamboo 1947 is a more structured leather bag, so it can feel slightly weightier than very soft or minimalist styles. However, the medium size is generally seen as the most versatile option in the range, offering a good balance between presence and everyday usability.

Q: How should I care for the bamboo handle and leather exterior?
A: To help preserve the bag, avoid prolonged exposure to direct sunlight, heat, rain and rough surfaces. If the bag becomes damp, dry it gently with a soft cloth. Store it in a dust bag when not in use, ideally lightly stuffed to help maintain its shape. Avoid overloading it, as excess weight can affect the structure over time.

Q: What makes the Gucci Bamboo 1947 special?
A: The Bamboo 1947 is one of Gucci’s most iconic designs, inspired by the House’s historic bamboo-handle bags first introduced in 1947. It is especially admired for its sculptural bamboo handle, signature bamboo turn-lock closure and timeless top-handle silhouette, which give it both heritage appeal and lasting collectability.

Q: What colour and materials does this specific bag have?
A: This particular piece is a black leather version with a red leather lining and gold-tone hardware. It features a flap top with bamboo turn-lock closure and is made in Italy.

Q: What is the condition of this pre-owned bag?
