Louis VuittonEpi Noé GM Bag

Q: What typically fits inside the Louis Vuitton Epi Noé GM?
A: With approximate measurements of 34 × 27 × 19 cm, the Noé GM is a spacious bucket bag that comfortably carries daily essentials such as an A4 notebook/diary, long wallet, sunglasses, cosmetics pouch, water bottle and a light scarf. Many owners also fit a 13-inch laptop vertically in a slim sleeve; capacity varies with how you pack, so please compare with the measurements shown on this page.

Q: Can I wear the Noé GM crossbody?
A: The classic Noé GM is primarily a shoulder bag. Its adjustable strap drop is commonly around 26–32 cm; this particular piece measures approximately 32 cm. For most people this is ideal for shoulder wear and generally too short for true crossbody, though some owners use strap extenders or longer replacement straps if they prefer that styling.

Q: What does the date code AR1905 mean?
A: Louis Vuitton date codes from 1990–2006 use two letters followed by four numbers. The letters indicate the country and the first/third digits the month, second/fourth the year. AR is a French factory code; AR1905 decodes to October 1995, made in France.

Q: Is Epi leather water resistant and hard-wearing?
A: Epi leather is known for its textured finish and durability. It is water resistant (not waterproof), making it a practical choice for daily use. If it gets wet, simply wipe dry with a soft cloth. Avoid prolonged exposure to sunlight/heat and harsh chemicals to preserve the colour and finish.

Q: How should I care for the purple microfibre interior and Epi exterior?
A: For the exterior, wipe with a soft, slightly damp cloth and dry immediately; avoid soaps, oils or alcohol-based products. For the microfibre interior, shake out loose debris, use a lint roller or a small hand vacuum on low suction, and spot clean very gently if needed. Store the bag loosely stuffed in a breathable dust bag, away from direct light and humidity.

Q: Does the vintage Noé GM have interior pockets?
A: Vintage Noé GM configurations vary by production era. Some Epi versions include a single interior zip pocket while others are a single open compartment. Please check the product photography and the product information on this page for the exact interior of this piece.

Q: Can the drawstring be replaced if it wears out?
A: Yes. Louis Vuitton offers repair services subject to an assessment and quote, and reputable leather ateliers can also craft replacement drawstrings. If you would like help arranging a repair, contact us and we can advise next steps.

Q: Why is the Noé design considered an icon?
A: The Noé was introduced in 1932 for a Champagne producer who needed a stylish, sturdy bag to carry five bottles (four upright and one inverted in the centre). Its generous volume and drawstring bucket shape come from this practical origin story.

Q: What is included with this item?
A: Everything included is listed under the product information on this page. If an item (for example, a dust bag or box) is not listed there, it is not included.

Q: There is a slight vintage odour—will it fade?
A: A light vintage scent is common with older leather goods and usually dissipates with use. Air the bag in a cool, dry place away from sunlight, and consider odour-absorbing sachets (such as activated charcoal) placed inside for short periods. Avoid spraying perfumes or household deodorisers directly on the leather or lining.
