Louis VuittonEpi Speedy 40 Weekend Bag

Q: What typically fits inside the Louis Vuitton Epi Speedy 40?
A: With measurements of approximately 43 x 28 x 20 cm, this is a roomy vintage carry-all that works well for a weekend away or days when you need extra space. It can hold clothing, a toiletries pouch, a wallet, a book, and other larger essentials. For the best sense of capacity, please compare your items with the measurements in the product information.

Q: Is the Speedy 40 better for everyday use or travel?
A: The Speedy 40 is generally considered one of the larger Speedy sizes, so it is usually best suited to travel, overnight stays, or as a spacious day bag. It can still be used every day if you prefer oversized bags and tend to carry a lot with you.

Q: Is this bag carry-on friendly?
A: At approximately 43 x 28 x 20 cm, it will usually fit within cabin or larger personal-item limits on many airlines. As airline rules can vary by carrier and route, we always recommend checking the current baggage allowance before travelling.

Q: Does this bag come with a shoulder strap or any extras?
A: No. This bag has dual rolled handles and, according to the product information, no accessories are included. The handle drop is approximately 9 cm, so it is designed primarily for hand or forearm carry.

Q: What is Epi leather, and is it durable?
A: Epi leather is Louis Vuitton’s signature textured, dyed-through leather, known for its structured feel and understated look. It is widely appreciated for standing up well to regular wear, which is one reason vintage Epi travel bags remain so popular.

Q: How should I care for vintage Epi leather?
A: Gently wipe the surface with a soft, slightly damp cloth and avoid harsh cleaners, oils, perfume, alcohol-based products, heat, and prolonged direct sunlight. When not in use, store the bag in a cool, dry place and avoid overstuffing it so it keeps its shape well.

Q: What does the date code VI 0911 mean?
A: Louis Vuitton date codes indicate production details rather than serving as a unique serial number. In this case, VI indicates France, and the number format is consistent with production in January 1991.

Q: What is the condition of this specific bag?
A: It is listed in Very Good Condition. The exterior has scuffing on the corners as well as marks and scratches in the leather material, the interior shows light traces of use, and the hardware is shiny with light scratches.

Q: Does it have any practical outer pockets?
A: Yes. This bag features one exterior slip pocket, which is useful for slim essentials you may want to reach quickly, such as travel papers, notes, or a phone.
