Louis VuittonVernis Zippy Coin Purse

Q: What can the Vernis Zippy Coin Purse hold day‑to‑day?
A: Despite its compact size, it is designed to organise coins, cards and folded notes. Inside you will find two gusseted compartments, two flat pockets and four card slots, making it ideal as a mini wallet for essentials.

Q: What are the measurements and how portable is it?
A: This item measures approximately 11 × 9 × 2 cm. Louis Vuitton lists the Zippy Coin Purse at around 11 × 8.5 × 2 cm, so a small variation is normal. It slips easily into a coat pocket or mini bag.

Q: How many cards will it take comfortably?
A: The layout includes four dedicated card slots, with additional space in the flat pockets or gusseted sections for extra cards if needed. Capacity depends on card thickness; for ease of zipping, avoid overfilling.

Q: What exactly is Monogram Vernis and is it durable?
A: Monogram Vernis is patent‑finished calf leather embossed with the LV Monogram. It is durable for daily use but, like all patent leathers, it benefits from mindful care to preserve its glossy finish.

Q: Are there any special care tips for Vernis leather?
A: Yes. Keep Vernis away from materials that may transfer colour (for example denim, magazines or dyed leather), avoid prolonged sunlight to limit colour fading, and wipe gently with a soft, slightly damp cloth when needed. Store it separately in a cool, dry place.

Q: Does the exterior colour risk transferring or changing over time?
A: Colour transfer can occur if Vernis contacts dark or highly dyed materials, and light Vernis shades can change tone with sun exposure. Minimising friction with such materials and storing away from direct light helps keep the colour true.

Q: What hardware does this piece have and what is its condition?
A: It features a gold‑tone zip with LV engraving. For this specific item, the hardware is shiny with light scratches as noted in the condition report.

Q: Does this listing include any additional items?
A: This piece comes as shown with no additional items. Everything included is detailed in the product information section; if a dust bag or box isn’t listed there, it is not included.

Q: Will this item have a date code or microchip, and where would it be?
A: Earlier Louis Vuitton small leather goods typically carry a stamped date code on a seam or interior tab. From around March 2021 LV phased in invisible microchips instead of visible codes. As a vintage piece, this item may have a stamped code; if present, we can share its location on request. Regardless, every item at A Retro Tale is carefully authenticated by our experts before listing.
