Q: What typically fits inside this MIU MIU Coffer Mattelassé Hobo Bag?
A: With approximate measurements of 30 × 24 × 6 cm, this bag is best suited to daily essentials such as a phone, small wallet, keys, sunglasses, cosmetics and other compact items. Its slim depth gives it a sleek profile, so it is not the best choice for bulkier items or a laptop. Please refer to the Measurements on this page for exact dimensions.

Q: Can this bag be carried on the shoulder?
A: Yes. This piece includes a shoulder strap and can also be carried by the top handle. The handle drop is approximately 15 cm and the strap drop is approximately 53 cm, so the fit will sit differently depending on height and styling preference.

Q: What is special about the Miu Miu Coffer Mattelassé design?
A: The Coffer is one of Miu Miu’s most recognisable vintage bag styles, loved for its softly structured hobo shape and signature mattelassé leather texture. The gathered, dimensional finish is a hallmark of Miu Miu and gives the bag its distinctive Y2K-era character.

Q: Is mattelassé leather delicate?
A: Mattelassé leather is prized for its soft, luxurious look and feel, but it does benefit from gentle handling. Like many supple designer leathers, it can show rubbing, scuffing and surface wear over time, especially at the corners and along high-contact areas.

Q: What is the condition of this bag?
A: This item is listed in good condition. The exterior shows rubbing and scuffing on the corners and leather, the interior has light traces of use, and the hardware remains shiny with light scratches. Please review all product images and information for the most complete view of condition.

Q: What is included with this bag?
A: According to the product information, this item includes a shoulder strap. If any other extras are not listed in the product information, they should not be assumed to be included.

Q: Where was this bag made?
A: The country of origin listed for this bag is Italy.

Q: How should I care for a vintage Miu Miu mattelassé bag?
A: Store it in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and humidity, ideally lightly stuffed to help maintain its shape. Use a soft dry or slightly damp cloth for gentle surface cleaning, and avoid overfilling, rain exposure, rough surfaces and harsh leather cleaners, as these can flatten or mark the leather.

Q: Is the Miu Miu Coffer still a desirable vintage style?
A: Yes. The Coffer remains a sought-after vintage Miu Miu silhouette, especially among shoppers drawn to early-2000s designer bags. Its appeal comes from the combination of the iconic mattelassé finish, relaxed shape and the continued popularity of archival Miu Miu styles.
