Q: Which model and year is this Rolex Lady Datejust?
A: This is a Swiss-made Rolex Lady Datejust from 1999, reference 79174, with a 26 mm case diameter.

Q: Is the 26 mm Lady Datejust a small watch?
A: Yes, its 26 mm case gives it a compact, understated appearance. It is a good option if you prefer a smaller watch rather than an oversized style. The case diameter is separate from the bracelet's wrist-fit measurement.

Q: What wrist size does this watch fit, and can the bracelet be adjusted?
A: The bracelet currently fits a 17 cm wrist, and two extra links are included. A qualified watchmaker can adjust the bracelet by adding or removing links. The maximum fit with the extra links is not specified in the product information.

Q: What condition is this pre-owned watch in?
A: It is graded Very Good overall, with light traces of use on the exterior. The internal condition is also graded Very Good, while the hardware remains shiny with light scratches. It is not described as unworn or scratch-free.

Q: What does the full set include?
A: The product information lists a box, outer box, certificate, manual, tag and two extra bracelet links. These are the items included with this particular watch.

Q: Does this Lady Datejust need a battery?
A: No. Reference 79174 is an automatic mechanical watch, powered by a mainspring rather than a battery. Wearing it helps wind the movement; if it stops after being left unworn, it can be manually wound and reset.

Q: Can I swim or shower with this 1999 Rolex?
A: Current water resistance is not confirmed in the product information. For a pre-owned watch of this age, have its seals and water resistance checked by a qualified watchmaker before exposing it to water. Until then, avoid swimming, showering or immersing it.

Q: Has this watch recently been serviced?
A: A recent service date or servicing record is not specified in the product information. The Very Good internal condition grade should not be taken as confirmation of a recent service. Ask A Retro Tale for any available servicing details before purchasing.

Q: How should I care for this pre-owned Lady Datejust?
A: Gently wipe the exterior with a soft, dry cloth and store it somewhere dry when not in use. Avoid harsh cleaning products, knocks and strong magnetic fields. As its current water resistance is unconfirmed, do not immerse it for cleaning, and have maintenance carried out by a qualified watchmaker.
