Tiffany & CoElsa Peretti Split Silver Ring

Q: What is the Tiffany & Co. Elsa Peretti Split Silver Ring made from?
A: This ring is crafted from sterling silver and features Elsa Peretti’s sculptural split band design. It has an organic, fluid shape intended to sit comfortably against the finger.

Q: Is this ring adjustable because it has an open split design?
A: Although the design has a split opening, it should be treated as a fitted ring rather than a fully adjustable style. We do not recommend bending or forcing the band, as this may affect the shape and finish over time.

Q: How does the Split Ring fit?
A: The Split Ring is designed to feel sculptural and close to the finger, so many shoppers look closely at sizing before purchasing. As this is a pre-owned piece, please refer to the Measurements on this page and contact us if you would like extra guidance before ordering.

Q: Can the split face up or down when worn?
A: Yes. One of the signature details of this Elsa Peretti design is that it can be styled with the split facing up or down, depending on the look you prefer.

Q: Is sterling silver suitable for everyday wear?
A: Yes, sterling silver is a precious metal well suited to regular wear. With that said, silver naturally develops surface marks with use and may tarnish over time, so gentle care and proper storage will help keep it looking its best.

Q: Will sterling silver tarnish?
A: Yes, sterling silver can tarnish when exposed to moisture, chlorine, cosmetics, sulphur, perspiration and air over time. This is normal for silver jewellery and does not mean the piece is in poor quality.

Q: How should I care for this vintage silver ring?
A: Clean it gently with a soft cloth suitable for sterling silver and avoid harsh chemicals or abrasive polishing. It is best to remove the ring before swimming, showering, exercising or applying lotions and perfume, then store it dry when not in use.

Q: What condition is this ring in?
A: This piece is listed in Very Good Condition. The hardware is described as shiny with light scratches, which is consistent with careful previous use and the nature of vintage sterling silver jewellery.

Q: What is included with this ring?
A: This ring includes a box. For this specific item, please rely on the product information for what is included with your purchase.

Q: Is this an authentic vintage Tiffany & Co. piece?
A: Yes. A Retro Tale specialises in authentic luxury vintage and second-hand designer pieces. This ring is sold as an authentic vintage Tiffany & Co. item.
