BalenciagaMedium Crush Tote Bag

Q: What typically fits inside the Balenciaga Medium Crush Tote?
A: With approximate measurements of 40 × 35 × 12 cm, it comfortably carries daily essentials such as an A4 notebook/diary, a 13-inch laptop in a slim sleeve, a small water bottle, umbrella, cosmetics pouch and a long wallet. Capacity will vary depending on how you pack—please refer to the Measurements on this page for exact dimensions.

Q: Can I wear it crossbody as well as on the shoulder?
A: Yes. The sliding chain strap can be doubled for a shorter shoulder drop or worn long for crossbody. On this piece the approximate drops are 23 cm (doubled) and 48 cm (single).

Q: Does this bag have a closure?
A: This specific piece is an open-top tote, making access quick and easy. Some Crush totes in other releases feature an interior drawstring, but if you prefer extra security here, we recommend using a zipped pouch or bag organiser inside.

Q: Will it fit a 13-inch laptop?
A: Generally yes, in a slim protective sleeve. Slim 14-inch models may also fit depending on the device and sleeve profile. Always compare your device’s dimensions with the bag’s Measurements to be sure.

Q: What is the leather and how does it wear over time?
A: The Crush line uses crinkled/calfsin leather designed to be soft and slightly slouchy. The textured finish helps disguise light scratches, though high-friction areas like corners can show wear over time. Avoid overfilling to preserve the silhouette.

Q: How should I care for the crinkled leather and chain strap?
A: Wipe gently with a soft, dry cloth after use. Keep away from moisture, oils and prolonged direct sunlight. When storing, place it in the dust bag, lightly stuff to support the shape, and tuck or wrap the chain to prevent impressions on the leather. Avoid harsh cleaners or heavy conditioners on the finished leather.

Q: Are the decorative charms on the chain removable?
A: The charms are part of the strap design and are not intended to be detached. Attempting to remove them can mark the chain or leather; if you prefer a cleaner look, simply rotate the strap so charms sit toward the back while worn.

Q: What accessories are included and where is it made?
A: This item comes with its dust bag and booklet, and is labelled Made in Italy. Everything included is listed under Accessories on this page.

Q: How does the Crush Tote differ from the Crush shoulder/chain bag?
A: The tote prioritises capacity with an open main compartment and sliding chain strap, ideal for everyday carry. The shoulder/chain versions have a flap with magnetic B hardware and a more structured interior, but share the same crinkled-leather aesthetic and sliding chain wear options.

Q: How do you authenticate this bag?
A: Every item at A Retro Tale is rigorously vetted by our in-house experts using multi-point checks of materials, stitching, hardware, stamps and construction details. We stand behind the authenticity of all items we sell and can provide additional photos or information on request.
