BreitlingSuperocean 42mm Full Set Watch

Q: What exactly is this Breitling model?
A: It’s the Breitling Superocean Heritage B20 Automatic 42 (Ref. AB2010), featuring a 42mm stainless-steel case, blue dial, blue unidirectional bezel, and a stainless-steel mesh bracelet. This example comes as a full set with the original box, certificate, and an extra blue rubber strap.

Q: Which movement does it use and what is the power reserve?
A: It is powered by the Breitling Manufacture Calibre B20, a COSC-certified automatic movement with an approximate 70-hour power reserve. The B20 is based on Tudor’s MT5612 architecture (via Kenissi), prized for robustness and accuracy.

Q: Is the watch suitable for swimming or diving?
A: Originally yes—this model is rated to 200 metres with a screw‑down crown, making it suitable for recreational diving. As this is a pre-owned piece, we recommend a current pressure test before any water use and always ensuring the crown is fully screwed down. Avoid hot tubs/saunas and rinse with fresh water after sea use.

Q: What type of bezel and crystal does it have?
A: The bezel is unidirectional with a polished ceramic ring for scratch resistance, and the crystal is cambered sapphire with anti-reflective treatment on both sides for excellent clarity.

Q: How does the Superocean Heritage differ from the regular Superocean?
A: The Heritage line echoes Breitling’s 1957 design with triangular hands, a ceramic bezel ring and the option of a mesh-style bracelet, delivering a more vintage‑inspired, dress‑diver look. The regular Superocean tends to emphasise a more tool‑like aesthetic and, in some versions, higher depth ratings.

Q: Will this watch fit my wrist?
A: This specific piece fits a wrist circumference of up to 21cm. The 42mm case wears balanced (approx. 14.35mm thick) and the mesh bracelet is known for comfort. The included rubber strap offers an alternative fit and feel for sport and water use.

Q: Can I swap between the mesh bracelet and the rubber strap easily?
A: Yes. The watch uses standard 22mm lugs. A watchmaker can switch between the mesh bracelet and the included rubber strap using the spring bars; we recommend professional fitting to avoid scratching the lugs and to ensure secure installation.

Q: Is it chronometer‑certified and does it have lume?
A: Yes, the B20 movement is COSC‑certified for chronometer accuracy. The dial features luminous hands and hour markers for low‑light legibility.

Q: How do I safely set the time and date?
A: Unscrew the crown counter‑clockwise to release it. Position 1 is for manual winding; pull gently to Position 2 to quick‑set the date; Position 3 sets the time. Avoid changing the date between roughly 8pm and 3am to protect the mechanism, then push the crown in and screw it down firmly.
