CelineSmall Seau Sangle Bucket Bag

Q: What typically fits inside the Céline Small Seau Sangle?
A: With its compact bucket silhouette (approx. 24 × 18 × 12 cm), it comfortably holds a large smartphone, compact wallet, keys, slim sunglasses in a soft case, a small cosmetics pouch and an A5 notebook. A small tablet such as an iPad mini usually fits; capacity varies with case size and how you pack. Please refer to the Measurements on this page for exact dimensions.

Q: Is it a shoulder or crossbody bag?
A: The Small Seau Sangle is designed primarily for shoulder carry using its wide wool strap. Most wearers will find it sits at a mid-length shoulder drop rather than crossbody. The wide strap helps distribute weight and enhances comfort for daily use.

Q: Does the Small size have exterior pockets?
A: No. The Small Seau Sangle has a clean exterior without outer pockets. The larger Seau Sangle versions feature exterior slip pockets, which is one of the key differences between sizes.

Q: How secure is the closure?
A: It features an internal hook closure rather than a top zip. For valuables, there is an interior zipped pocket, and a flat pocket helps keep small items organised.

Q: What are the materials and lining on this piece?
A: This item is crafted in black grained calfskin leather with a black suede lining, gold‑tone hardware and a detachable wide wool shoulder strap, combining durability with a soft handfeel.

Q: Will it fit an iPad mini or A4 documents?
A: An iPad mini or similar small tablet typically fits inside. A4 documents (21 × 29.7 cm) do not fit flat due to the bag’s height and width in this Small size.

Q: Is this a Phoebe Philo–era design?
A: Yes. The Seau Sangle was introduced under Phoebe Philo around the 2016 collections and has become a modern CELINE staple. This particular item is a vintage piece.

Q: Is the strap detachable or adjustable?
A: The shoulder strap on this piece is detachable, allowing you to remove it or swap for a compatible strap if desired. It is intended for shoulder wear; length and adjustability can vary by release, and this piece is set up for shoulder carry rather than crossbody.

Q: How should I care for the grained calfskin and suede lining?
A: Wipe the exterior gently with a soft, slightly damp cloth and dry immediately. Avoid oils, solvents and prolonged exposure to moisture or heat. Use a slim organiser or bag insert to keep shape and protect the suede lining, and store it lightly stuffed in a breathable dust bag away from direct sunlight. Avoid overfilling to maintain the structure and prevent stretching at the hook closure.

Q: What is included with this item?
A: Everything included is listed under the product information on this page. For this piece, a detachable shoulder strap is included. If you would like us to confirm any additional inclusions, contact our team.

Q: How do you authenticate this bag?
A: Every item at A Retro Tale is rigorously vetted by our in‑house experts using multi‑point checks of materials, stitching, hardware and brand markings. We stand behind the authenticity of all items we sell and can provide further details on request.
