ChanelCaviar Vanity Bag

Q: What fits inside this Chanel Caviar Vanity Bag?
A: With measurements of approximately 16 x 10 x 8 cm, it is best suited to small daily essentials such as cards, keys, lipstick, earbuds and other compact items. It is a structured mini style, so capacity is limited compared with a regular crossbody bag. Please refer to the Measurements on this page for the most accurate size reference.

Q: Will a phone fit inside?
A: This depends on the size of your phone and whether you use a bulky case. Some small vanity styles can fit a standard smartphone, while others cannot. As this bag measures 16 cm across, we recommend comparing your phone’s dimensions directly with the Measurements listed on this page before purchasing.

Q: Can this bag be worn crossbody?
A: Yes, this style is designed with a long strap and can generally be worn on the shoulder or crossbody, depending on your height and preferred fit. The listed strap measurement is 60 cm, which gives a helpful guide to how it may sit when worn.

Q: Is caviar leather a practical choice for everyday use?
A: Yes, caviar leather is widely appreciated for its textured finish and durable feel. Compared with smoother leathers, it is generally more resistant to visible scratching and tends to hold its shape well, which makes it a practical option for regular use.

Q: Is this a good bag for everyday essentials or more for occasions?
A: Chanel vanity bags are popular because they work well for light day-to-evening use. This one is ideal if you like carrying only the essentials and prefer a compact, structured silhouette rather than a roomy everyday tote.

Q: What condition is this bag in?
A: This item is listed in Very Good Condition with light traces of use. The exterior and interior are both described as very good, and the hardware is shiny with light scratches. These notes give the clearest picture of the bag’s current pre-owned condition.

Q: What is included with this bag?
A: This item comes with product information including the box, dust bag and serial number tag. If a different item is not listed under product information, it should not be assumed to be included.

Q: Where was this bag made?
A: The country of origin label for this bag is France.

Q: How should I store and care for this bag?
A: To help preserve its shape and finish, store it in a dust bag away from direct sunlight, humidity and heat. Avoid overfilling the bag, keep it away from rough surfaces, and wipe it gently with a soft dry cloth after use. For white leather in particular, extra care is recommended to minimise colour transfer and surface marks.

Q: How do you authenticate a pre-owned Chanel bag like this?
A: At A Retro Tale, pre-owned luxury items are carefully vetted for authenticity. For this piece, the serial number tag is included, and authenticity checks typically consider construction, materials, hardware details, stamps and overall craftsmanship in addition to accompanying product information.
