Q: What does size 90 mean for this Chanel belt?
A: Chanel belts are typically sized in centimetres, and size 90 refers to the stated belt size. As fit can vary depending on where you wear it, we recommend comparing the size with your own waist or hip measurement before purchase.

Q: Can this chain belt be worn on the waist as well as the hips?
A: Yes, chain belts like this are often styled either at the waist or lower on the hips, depending on your outfit and proportions. The best fit will depend on your measurements and how much drape you prefer.

Q: What are the main features of this belt?
A: This piece features burgundy leather woven through a gold-tone chain, multi-charm embellishments, gold-tone hardware, and a lobster clasp closure. It is a statement accessory with a distinctly vintage Chanel look.

Q: What condition is this item in?
A: This belt is listed in Very Good Condition. Please note there is tarnish, trace of use, and hardware wear including scratches, discolouration and tarnish, which is consistent with a pre-owned vintage piece.

Q: Is tarnish normal on vintage Chanel chain belts?
A: Yes, light to moderate tarnish and surface wear are common on vintage Chanel hardware over time. Many buyers expect some ageing on pre-owned chain belts, especially on gold-tone hardware, and this piece’s condition notes already mention tarnish and signs of use.

Q: How should I care for the leather and hardware?
A: Store the belt in a dry place away from direct sunlight, humidity and heat. Wipe it gently with a soft, dry cloth after use, avoid perfumes or harsh cleaning products, and try to limit prolonged contact with moisture and body oils to help preserve both the leather and the gold-tone finish.

Q: Does this item come with any extras?
A: No. According to the product information, this item comes with no accessories.

Q: How do you authenticate Chanel vintage accessories?
A: At A Retro Tale, pre-owned luxury items are professionally inspected for authenticity using details such as materials, construction, hardware, branding and overall craftsmanship. If you would like additional reassurance before purchasing, feel free to contact customer service for further guidance.
