Christian DiorMalice Top Handle Bag

Q: What typically fits inside this Christian Dior Malice Top Handle Bag?
A: With approximate measurements of 22 x 17 x 7 cm, this is a compact vintage bag that typically fits a phone, card holder, keys, lipstick, sunglasses and a few small daily essentials. It is better suited to light day-to-evening use than bulkier items such as a long wallet, tablet or water bottle.

Q: Can this bag be worn on the shoulder or crossbody?
A: This specific piece is designed with dual top handles, and no shoulder strap is listed in the product information. It is therefore best carried in the hand or over the arm rather than worn crossbody. The handle drop is approximately 12.5 cm.

Q: What materials and details does this bag have?
A: According to the product information, this bag is crafted in beige patent leather with smooth leather trim and silver-tone hardware. It features dual top handles, a tonal monogram fabric lining, one internal pocket and a magnetic closure. It is made in Italy.

Q: What is the condition of this bag?
A: The overall condition is rated Very Good. The exterior shows light traces of use with visible scratches, the interior has light traces of use, and the hardware remains shiny with light scratches.

Q: Is patent leather difficult to maintain?
A: Patent leather is known for its glossy finish, but it benefits from careful handling. To help preserve the surface, avoid rough contact, dark denim or heavily dyed fabrics, excess heat and long exposure to direct sunlight. After use, wipe it gently with a soft dry or slightly damp cloth and store it loosely stuffed in a breathable dust bag.

Q: Is this a practical everyday bag?
A: It is practical for carrying small essentials, but its structured compact shape makes it especially well suited to lunches, dinners, events and polished day-to-evening wear rather than heavier everyday carrying.

Q: Why is the Dior Malice line so sought after?
A: The Malice is one of Dior's recognisable vintage designs from the John Galliano era, appreciated for its sculptural silhouette and distinctive handle detailing. Its strong late-1990s and early-2000s character gives it particular appeal for collectors and lovers of archival Dior.

Q: What is included with this item?
A: No additional items are listed in the product information for this piece. If something is not mentioned there, it should not be assumed to be included.

Q: How do you authenticate this bag?
A: Every item at A Retro Tale is vetted by in-house experts using checks of materials, construction, hardware, stamps and other era-appropriate details. We stand behind the authenticity of the pieces we sell.
