HermèsReversible H D'Ancre Belt Size 80

Q: How does Hermès belt sizing work, and what does size 80 mean?
A: Hermès sizes are measured in centimetres from the base of the buckle’s tongue to the centre hole. A size 80 means the distance to the middle hole is 80 cm. Measure where you plan to wear the belt (waist or hips) and choose the closest Hermès size; this belt then offers adjustment using the surrounding holes. Please refer to the Measurements on this page for exact dimensions.

Q: Will size 80 fit me?
A: If the circumference where you wear your belt is around 80 cm, this size should fit with room to adjust via the neighbouring holes. If you are between sizes, it is usually best to select the size closest to your measurement rather than sizing up or down significantly. For guidance, 80 cm is approximately 31.5 inches.

Q: Is the H D’Ancre buckle removable and compatible with other Hermès straps?
A: Yes. Hermès belts are modular, so the buckle and strap detach and can be mixed and matched. Compatibility depends on width—pair buckles and straps of the same width. The H D’Ancre style is commonly paired with Hermès’ 32 mm system; please verify against this strap’s width (approx. 3 cm) before swapping components.

Q: How do I use the reversible feature?
A: Gently slide the buckle off, flip the strap to the alternate colour, and reattach the buckle. Ensure the peg seats fully and the tongue aligns with the holes. Avoid forcing the hardware; if resistance is felt, remove and reinsert to protect the leather and finish.

Q: What accessories are included with this item?
A: This belt is delivered with a box and dust bag, as listed under Accessories. If an item is not mentioned there, it is not included.

Q: Can the belt be shortened or can extra holes be added?
A: Adding holes or altering length changes the original specifications, so we recommend consulting a Hermès boutique or an expert leatherworker. Some boutiques may offer hole-punching services after assessment; shortening a reversible, edge‑finished belt is more complex and is generally not advised without professional guidance.

Q: How should I care for the leather and hardware?
A: Wipe the strap with a soft, dry cloth after wear, keep it away from moisture, oils and solvents, and store it in its dust bag away from direct heat or sunlight. Avoid abrasives on the buckle; use a clean microfibre cloth. Rotate wear and avoid over‑tightening to preserve the leather’s shape and finish.

Q: What does the blind stamp Y (2020) indicate?
A: Hermès uses letter stamps to indicate year of production; the letter Y corresponds to 2020. Stamps are part of a broader set of maker’s marks used during authentication.

Q: Will the strap width fit my belt loops?
A: The strap measures approximately 3 cm in height, which suits most standard trouser belt loops for tailoring and denim. If your garments have unusually narrow or wide loops, measure the loop height to ensure comfortable clearance.
