Tiffany & CoElsa Peretti Bean 18Kt Necklace

Q: What is the Tiffany & Co. Elsa Peretti Bean necklace made from?
A: This necklace is crafted in 18kt yellow gold. The Bean design is one of Elsa Peretti’s most recognisable motifs, inspired by an organic, sculptural form that symbolises the origin of all things.

Q: What size is this necklace?
A: The chain length is approximately 41 cm, so it will generally sit close to the collarbone. The bean pendant measures approximately 1 cm wide, 0.8 cm high and 0.2 cm deep, giving it a refined, understated look.

Q: How does a 41 cm necklace usually fit?
A: A necklace around 41 cm long typically wears as a short necklace at or near the collarbone on most people. Exact placement can vary depending on your neck circumference and styling preference.

Q: Is this necklace suitable for everyday wear?
A: Yes, the Bean necklace is well known as an easy everyday piece thanks to its smooth shape, classic yellow gold finish and versatile size. It also layers nicely with longer chains if you prefer a stacked look.

Q: What condition is this pre-owned necklace in?
A: It is listed in Very Good Condition. The hardware remains shiny with light scratches, which is consistent with careful prior wear and typical for pre-owned fine gold jewellery.

Q: Are light scratches normal on vintage or second-hand gold jewellery?
A: Yes, light surface scratches are common on pre-owned gold pieces, even when they have been well cared for. Fine hairline wear can develop naturally over time with use and is generally considered normal for authentic second-hand jewellery.

Q: How should I care for this 18kt gold necklace?
A: Handle it gently and avoid contact with bleach, harsh cleaning products, perfume, lotions and chlorinated or salt water. After wear, wipe it with a soft cloth and store it separately in a soft pouch or lined jewellery box to help minimise scratching.

Q: Can Tiffany Bean necklaces have hallmarks in different places?
A: Yes, collectors often note that hallmark placement can vary by production period and sometimes by size. Some Bean necklaces are marked on the pendant, while others may be marked on the clasp or chain instead. For a pre-owned piece, the best approach is to review the listing images and product information together with the seller’s authentication process.

Q: Does this item come with a box, pouch or papers?
A: This piece is listed with no additional inclusions. Everything that comes with the item is reflected in the product information, so if no extras are listed, they are not included.

Q: Is the Bean necklace a subtle or statement piece?
A: This style is generally considered subtle and elegant rather than bold. With its compact bean motif and short chain length, it works especially well for minimal everyday styling, gifting, or layering with other necklaces.
