HermèsTaurillon Clémence Picotin 18 Bougainvillier Bag

Q: What are the dimensions and how is the Picotin 18 carried?
A: The Picotin 18 measures approximately 18 × 19 × 13 cm with a handle drop around 13 cm. It is designed for hand or crook‑of‑arm carry and does not include a shoulder strap.

Q: What typically fits inside a Picotin 18 for everyday use?
A: It comfortably holds a smartphone, compact wallet or cardholder, keys, a small cosmetics item, hand sanitiser, and sunglasses in a soft pouch. Capacity depends on how you pack—please refer to the Measurements on this page for exact sizing.

Q: Will it fit a long wallet or a water bottle?
A: A slim long wallet may fit diagonally but can press against the sides and reduce access. A 500 ml bottle generally sticks out at the top; if you often carry taller items, the Picotin 22 is a better choice.

Q: Is the Picotin 18 lined and does it have interior pockets?
A: The Picotin is unlined with a suede interior and has no interior pockets. Many owners use a small organiser or pouch to keep items tidy and protect the interior.

Q: How secure is the open top and how do the lock and keys work?
A: The bag closes with a leather strap that threads through the centre and can be secured with the padlock. For quick errands you can simply cinch the strap without locking; for added security, close and lock the strap and keep the keys on the key fob or stored safely inside the bag.

Q: Does this model come with a shoulder or crossbody option?
A: No. The Picotin 18 is a handheld style and does not have strap D‑rings. Some owners experiment with third‑party straps, but this can rub against the leather or hardware; we do not recommend modifications that may cause wear.

Q: How does Taurillon Clémence leather wear over time?
A: Clémence is a soft, pebbled, full‑grain calf leather known for a relaxed, slightly slouchy look and good resistance to light surface scratches. It can be a touch heavier than some leathers and may soften with use; storing the bag stuffed helps maintain its shape.

Q: Any care tips for this leather and unlined interior?
A: Keep away from prolonged moisture and oils. If caught in light rain, blot gently and allow to air dry away from heat. Wipe exterior with a soft dry cloth, avoid harsh cleaners, and do not over‑condition Clémence. Store in its dust bag, lightly padded to hold shape, and consider a base shaper or organiser to minimise corner wear. Keep the padlock in a pouch to avoid contact marks.

Q: What does the date stamp Y (2020) mean?
A: Hermès uses a discreet blind‑stamp system with a letter indicating the production year. The letter Y corresponds to 2020. Stamp location can vary by model and is not a serial number.

Q: What is included with this item?
A: Everything included is listed in the product information on this page. For this piece: box, dust bag, padlock and keys. If an item is not listed there, it is not included—please contact us if you would like us to confirm.
