BalmainMedium Shuffle Bag

Q: What are the dimensions of the Medium Shuffle and what typically fits inside?
A: This piece measures approximately 31 × 45 × 17 cm, making it a roomy everyday tote. It comfortably holds a 13–16 inch laptop in a protective sleeve, A4 documents, a long wallet, phone, water bottle and small pouches. Capacity will vary depending on how you pack—avoid overfilling to help maintain the bag’s shape.

Q: How does the Medium Shuffle close, and is it secure for daily use?
A: On this specific bag the top is open, with a decorative wraparound belt and buckle that defines the silhouette. Many Shuffle versions are designed exactly this way; some retail iterations have an internal tie or zip. We recommend using pouches for small valuables if you prefer extra security.

Q: Can it be worn on the shoulder?
A: Yes. The Medium Shuffle is designed to be carried by hand or worn on the shoulder via its dual leather handles. On this item the handle drop is about 22 cm, which typically allows for comfortable shoulder carry over light layers.

Q: What is the bag made from and where is it produced?
A: The exterior is calfskin leather with gold-tone hardware, and the interior is lined in faux suede with a simple open compartment. Balmain produces the Shuffle line in Italy.

Q: Does it come with a crossbody strap?
A: No. The Medium Shuffle is a top-handle/shoulder tote and does not include a detachable crossbody strap. Some Shuffle Mini styles come with a strap, but the Medium is intended for hand or shoulder carry.

Q: Will it fit a work laptop?
A: Yes. Given the width and height, most 14–16 inch laptops fit comfortably in a protective sleeve. For best results, place the laptop vertically or along the back wall and balance heavier items at the base.

Q: How should I care for the leather and the faux suede lining?
A: Wipe the leather occasionally with a soft, slightly damp cloth and dry immediately; avoid oils, solvents and prolonged sunlight or rain. Keep the interior tidy with a lint roller or a soft suede brush, and store the bag lightly stuffed in its dust bag to preserve the structure.

Q: Is the belt functional?
A: The belt and buckle are primarily a design element that cinches the silhouette; they do not serve as a primary closure on this piece.

Q: What accessories are included with this item?
A: This bag comes with a dust bag and a brand booklet. Everything included is always listed under Accessories on this page.

Q: How do you authenticate this bag?
A: Every item at A Retro Tale is rigorously vetted by our in-house experts using multi-point checks of materials, stitching, heat stamps, hardware engravings and overall construction. We stand behind the authenticity of all items we sell and can provide additional photos or details on request.
