CartierLOVE Hoop Earrings, Small Model

Q: What are the measurements of the small model LOVE hoop earrings?
A: The small model typically has a hoop width of approximately 2.65 mm with an inner diameter around 10 mm, giving an outside diameter close to 13 mm. Please refer to the Measurements on this page for the exact dimensions of this pair.

Q: What are they made of and what is the closure type?
A: This vintage pair is crafted in 18k white gold and features post-and-push-back closures. As noted in our product information, the backings on this pair are sterling silver.

Q: How does the small model compare to the classic model?
A: The small model is slimmer and more discreet, with a width around 2.65 mm. The classic model is noticeably broader (around 5.7 mm), offering more visual presence on the ear.

Q: Are they comfortable for everyday wear?
A: Many wearers find the small model light and comfortable for daily use thanks to the close-to-ear hoop profile. Comfort is personal and can vary based on ear anatomy and backing preference, but feedback commonly notes secure, easy wear.

Q: Will white gold tarnish or lose its shine?
A: 18k white gold does not tarnish like silver, but it can develop fine surface scratches with wear. Routine gentle cleaning and occasional professional polishing help maintain the shine over time.

Q: How should I clean and care for these earrings at home?
A: Wipe after wear with a soft, lint-free cloth. For a deeper clean, use lukewarm water with a drop of mild soap and a very soft brush, then rinse and dry thoroughly. Avoid harsh chemicals, ultrasonic cleaners at home, and exposure to cosmetics, perfume, or chlorine. Store separately to prevent scratching.

Q: Are these suitable for sensitive ears?
A: 18k gold is generally well tolerated, but some white gold alloys may contain trace metals that can irritate very sensitive skin. If you have a known nickel sensitivity, consider patch-testing or opting for yellow gold or platinum, and consult a professional if unsure.

Q: What is included with this item?
A: Everything included is listed in the product information on this page. For this pair, no additional items are currently listed. If something is not shown there, it is not included.

Q: How are these authenticated?
A: Every item at A Retro Tale is rigorously vetted by our in-house experts using multi-point checks of metal composition, hallmarks (such as Cartier signature and 750 for 18k gold), construction, and period-correct details. We stand behind the authenticity of all items we sell.

Q: Can Cartier service or polish vintage LOVE earrings?
A: Cartier offers cleaning, polishing, and after-sales care subject to an assessment. For vintage pieces, they can advise on suitable servicing and finish restoration; availability may vary by boutique and condition of the piece.
