GucciGG Hobo Bag

Q: What typically fits inside the Gucci GG Hobo Bag?
A: With approximate measurements of 35 × 31 × 15 cm, it comfortably holds A4 documents or a tablet, a long wallet, keys, phone, a small cosmetics pouch, sunglasses case and a compact umbrella. Many 13-inch laptops in a slim sleeve may fit, but please compare your device to the measurements and allow room for the zip closure.

Q: Can it be worn crossbody?
A: This style is designed for the shoulder. It has a single flat adjustable shoulder strap with an approximate drop of 30 cm on this piece, which is usually not long enough for true crossbody wear for most heights.

Q: What is the exterior made of and how durable is it?
A: It features beige GG canvas with off‑white leather trim. Gucci’s GG Supreme/Original GG canvas is a coated fabric known for being lightweight and hard‑wearing for daily use, while the leather trim adds structure and ages nicely with proper care.

Q: How should I clean and care for the canvas and leather trim?
A: After each use, wipe the bag gently with a soft, dry cloth before storing. For GG Supreme fabric sections, you can use a slightly damp soft cloth; avoid soaps, harsh cleaners, and protective sprays. Keep away from direct sunlight, heat, humidity, rain, and rough surfaces. Store stuffed with tissue in a breathable dust bag to help it keep its shape.

Q: Is it water‑resistant? Can I use it in the rain?
A: The coated canvas offers light resistance to everyday splashes, but the bag is not waterproof. Avoid rain where possible; if it gets wet, blot dry immediately with a soft cloth and allow it to air dry away from heat sources.

Q: Where would I find the Gucci serial number on a hobo like this?
A: On most Gucci handbags, the serial/style code is heat‑stamped on the reverse of a small interior leather tag, usually near a seam or zipper. Formatting varies by era, and normal vintage wear can make numbers faint. Very early vintage pieces may have different or inconsistent markings, so the absence or faintness of a code is not a definitive indicator by itself.

Q: I’ve heard about Gucci’s NFC authenticity tag—does this bag have it?
A: Gucci’s NFC authenticity tag is available only on selected recent items. As a vintage piece, this hobo typically predates that programme, so you would not expect an NFC tag in this bag.

Q: What closures and pockets does it have?
A: It has a secure zip‑top closure and a brown fabric lining with one internal zip pocket, making it practical for everyday essentials.

Q: What is included with my purchase?
A: Everything included is listed under the product information on this page. If a dust bag, box, or other items are not listed there, they are not included with this piece.

Q: How do you authenticate this bag?
A: Every item at A Retro Tale is thoroughly vetted by in‑house experts using multi‑point checks of materials, stitching, hardware, stamping, and era‑appropriate details. We stand behind the authenticity of all items we sell and can provide further photos or details on request.
