Louis VuittonMonogram Eclipse Soft Trunk Bag

Q: What typically fits inside the Louis Vuitton Monogram Eclipse Soft Trunk?
A: With approximate measurements of 25 x 17 x 9 cm, it’s sized for daily essentials: a large smartphone (including most Pro/Max models), a compact wallet or cardholder, keys, AirPods, passport, a small notebook, and slim sunglasses in a soft case. A continental (long) wallet often fits, though the structured frame and zip opening can make bulkier long wallets snug. Please refer to the Measurements on this page or ask us for a tailored fit check for this exact piece.

Q: Will it fit a tablet or laptop?
A: Slim tablets like the iPad mini typically fit comfortably. Larger tablets (e.g., 11-inch iPad Pro) and laptops do not fit due to the Soft Trunk’s dimensions and zip opening. Compare your device’s measurements with those listed or contact us—we’re happy to test the fit for you.

Q: Will my iPhone Pro/Max fit?
A: Yes, most Pro/Max phones fit easily. Very bulky cases may make the fit tighter. If you’d like certainty, share your phone’s dimensions and we’ll check against this exact bag.

Q: Is the shoulder strap adjustable or removable? Can I wear it crossbody?
A: Yes—the Soft Trunk features a removable, adjustable shoulder strap for shoulder or crossbody wear. This listing shows an approximate strap drop of 48 cm; if you need a precise measurement or how it sits on you, just ask and we’ll advise.

Q: How secure is the closure and what pockets does it have?
A: It has a zip-top main compartment that offers good day-to-day security. Interiors typically include one or more slip pockets for organisation. Exact layout can vary slightly by season—our photos show the precise configuration of this piece.

Q: What materials and hardware does this piece have, and where is it made?
A: This listing specifies Monogram Eclipse coated canvas with black leather trim, black-toned hardware, and a textile lining, plus a zip closure. The country of origin is France, as indicated in the interior stamp and on this page.

Q: How should I care for Monogram Eclipse coated canvas, leather trim, and hardware?
A: Coated canvas is durable—wipe gently with a soft, dry cloth and avoid harsh cleaners. Keep leather away from moisture, oils, and prolonged sunlight, and be mindful of colour transfer from dark denim (especially on lighter clothing rubbing against the bag). Store lightly stuffed, upright, in a breathable dust bag, and avoid overfilling to preserve the zip and frame. Hardware can develop hairline scratches with normal use—avoid abrasive surfaces and protect metal from rubbing during storage.

Q: Is the Soft Trunk still produced?
A: The Soft Trunk and related variations (e.g., Soft Trunk Messenger) have been part of Louis Vuitton’s men’s collection in recent seasons, though colours, materials and details can vary over time. The pre-loved market is ideal for finding specific editions like Monogram Eclipse.

Q: Where are the brand markings and codes located, and how is dating handled?
A: Authentic Louis Vuitton bags feature an interior heat stamp (e.g., “LOUIS VUITTON Paris” and the country of origin). Older pieces typically include a date code on a small leather tab or along an interior seam; from around 2021 LV transitioned to an embedded microchip instead of a visible code. This item lists DU3149 under Serial Number. Placement and format can vary—contact us for close-up photos or help interpreting markings for this exact piece.

Q: What accessories are included and how do you authenticate?
A: Included items are listed under “Accessories.” For this piece, we note a shoulder strap. Every item at A Retro Tale undergoes rigorous, multi-point authentication by our in-house experts, assessing materials, stitching, hardware, stamps, date code/microchip and overall construction. We stand behind the authenticity of every piece we sell.
