Louis VuittonMonogram Palm Springs MM Backpack

Q: What typically fits inside the Palm Springs MM?
A: As a medium backpack, it comfortably carries daily essentials: large smartphone, long/continental wallet, keys, sunglasses in a soft case, cosmetics pouch, A5 diary/notebook, a small water bottle and a tablet. Capacity can vary with how you pack; please refer to the Measurements on this page (approx. 35 × 30 × 10 cm) and our listing photos for this exact piece, or ask us for a tailored fit check.

Q: Will it fit a 13-inch laptop or A4 documents?
A: A slim 13-inch laptop can often fit in the MM, especially without a bulky sleeve. A4 documents fit but may require a slight angle due to the curved zip opening. For certainty, compare your device to our Measurements or ask us to test-fit your dimensions in this specific bag.

Q: Are the straps comfortable and adjustable?
A: Yes. The Palm Springs MM has two adjustable, padded shoulder straps designed for comfort during longer wear, plus a single top handle for grab-and-go carry. The approximate drops for this item are noted under Measurements (handle drop around 7 cm; strap drop around 25 cm). If you’d like exact settings measured on the current holes, just ask.

Q: How secure is the closure and what pockets does it have?
A: It features a two-way zip for the main compartment, an exterior front zipped pocket for quick-access items, and an internal slip pocket to organise valuables. Our photos show the exact layout of this piece.

Q: Is the Monogram canvas water-resistant and how should I care for it?
A: Louis Vuitton’s coated canvas is durable and water-resistant, but not waterproof. Wipe the canvas with a soft, slightly damp cloth; keep the black leather trim away from moisture and potential colour transfer; and store the bag upright, lightly stuffed, in a breathable dust bag. Avoid harsh cleaners and prolonged sun exposure.

Q: I’ve heard about zipper rub on some Palm Springs backpacks—should I be concerned?
A: Some earlier releases (particularly smaller sizes) were noted by owners for zipper rub against the canvas. Later runs adjusted the zipper placement for easier access. Condition varies by piece; our listing notes “Very Good” with light signs of use, and the photos show the exact zipper style and wear for this bag.

Q: Does this bag have a date code or a microchip?
A: Older Palm Springs bags typically have a date code (often along an interior seam or near a pocket). From around 2021, Louis Vuitton transitioned to embedded microchips instead of visible date codes. If you’d like, we can point out the marking relevant to this piece.

Q: Where is this particular item made?
A: This specific piece is stamped Made in France, as noted in our details. Louis Vuitton manufactures the Palm Springs line in several countries depending on the production run, but we always list the country of origin for the individual item.

Q: Is the Palm Springs MM still available in boutiques?
A: Availability varies by season and region; certain sizes or finishes may be harder to source new. The pre‑loved market is often the most reliable way to find specific configurations like this Monogram MM.

Q: What accessories are included with this item?
A: This listing states “no accessories.” Any included items are always specified under Accessories; if an item isn’t listed there, it isn’t included—please contact us if you’d like us to confirm.

Q: How do you authenticate this bag?
A: Every item at A Retro Tale undergoes rigorous, multi‑point authentication by our in‑house experts, assessing materials, stitching, heat stamps, hardware, date code/microchip era details and overall construction. We stand behind the authenticity of all items we sell.
