CelineMacadam Cashmere and Wool Scarf

Q: What is the Céline Macadam Cashmere and Wool Scarf?
A: It’s a Céline scarf featuring the house’s historic Macadam monogram, crafted in a cashmere–wool blend for softness and warmth. Exact weave, edge finish (fringe or stitched) and colours vary by model and year—please review our photos and listing details for this specific piece.

Q: What does “Macadam” mean—is it the same as Triomphe?
A: Macadam is Céline’s classic interlocked “C” motif used across vintage collections. In more recent releases the house refers to the monogram as Triomphe. On vintage pieces the terms are sometimes used interchangeably, but both denote Céline’s signature monogram pattern.

Q: What are the exact dimensions and how big is it?
A: Sizes vary by model—please check the Measurements section of this listing for precise dimensions. Hand‑finished edges or fringes can result in slight variances (±1–2 cm).

Q: Is it unisex and how can I style it?
A: Yes—this scarf is widely worn by all genders. Try a simple drape over coats, a Parisian loop, a wrapped knot for extra warmth, belted over a blazer, or as a cosy travel wrap. The Macadam motif adds a refined, vintage touch to casual and tailored looks alike.

Q: Is the cashmere–wool blend itchy or heavy?
A: The blend is generally soft, warm and mid‑weight, suitable for autumn/winter and cool evenings. Sensitivity to wool varies by person; if you’re prone to itchiness, layer it over a fine‑gauge knit or long‑sleeve top.

Q: How should I care for and clean a cashmere/wool scarf?
A: Follow the care label. Typically, dry clean is recommended. Between cleans, air the scarf after wear, avoid prolonged friction, and brush lightly with a soft garment brush in one direction. If the label permits spot cleaning, blot gently with cool water—do not soak, wring, machine wash or tumble dry. Press on the reverse with a cool iron and a pressing cloth. Store folded in a breathable bag, away from heat, moisture and direct sunlight; consider cedar or lavender to deter moths.

Q: Will it pill or shed, and how can I manage that?
A: Natural fibres like cashmere and wool can develop light pilling with friction. Minimise rubbing against rough fabrics or bag straps. Remove pills sparingly with a cashmere comb or a very gentle fabric shaver, using light strokes. Avoid adhesive lint rollers that can pull fibres.

Q: Will the colour bleed or transfer?
A: Deep or saturated dyes can transfer onto light fabrics and leathers, especially when damp. Keep the scarf away from rain and humidity, avoid rubbing against pale garments, and store out of direct sunlight to help prevent fading.

Q: Where is it made and does it have serial numbers? How is authenticity verified?
A: Céline scarves typically do not have serial numbers. Expect a brand/care label indicating fibre composition and country of origin; cashmere/wool styles are commonly made in Italy or Scotland. A Retro Tale authenticates every item through rigorous multi‑point checks beyond labels alone.

Q: Does this pre‑owned scarf come with the original box or dust bag?
A: Inclusions vary for vintage and second‑hand pieces. Please refer to the Accessories section and listing photos for exactly what is included. If original packaging isn’t shown or mentioned, it is not included.
